From today it has become a legal requirement for cats to be microchipped before they reach 20 weeks of age!

“All owners must have their cat microchipped by 10 June 2024 and owners found not to have microchipped their cat will have 21 days to have one implanted, or may face a fine of up to £500.”

‼️Sick Trigger Warning‼️

This little one came to us recently after eating his mums pop sock! Luckily she acted quickly and phoned us, we asked her to bring him straight down and he received an Emedog injection to make him vomit, in hopes the sock would come with it and it did!
He was a lovely patient and gave the best cuddles!🐾💙

Today Marley and Pip had their first sessions at our Hailsham branch from , they had a great time! Hydrotherapy isn’t just for dogs recovering from surgery or injuries, it’s a powerful way to improve mobility, increase strength, and relieve pain.

Lovely Jupiter came to see us today to be neutered and microchiped. Our nurse Nicola got him out for his admit appointment and it’s safe to say he made himself at home🏡

We love seeing your pets everyday 💖🐾

Hugo came to see us this morning because he was limping, our vet noticed his paw was swollen so he was sent home with some anti inflammatory medication and was told he needs extra cuddles tonight!

He also helped out on reception, he took payment for his hard work in treats🦴

🍫Easter Reminder🍫

Most of us love chocolate, but it’s not for our four legged friends so keep it out of reach this Easter!

Chocolate can be poisonous to dogs as it contains a substance called theobromine, which dogs and some other animals struggle to metabolise.
The darker the chocolate, the higher the level of theobromine, and therefore the more toxic it is. Cocoa powder is even more dangerous to your pet than dark chocolate. So, if your dog has consumed this, then you’ll need to speak to your vet straight away.

Who remembers our Emergency case of the week?!

We thought we would put a face to his name, this is Albert who had surgery on his front leg and he’s feeling much better as you can see by the smile on his face😃 The vet is very happy with how his leg is healing and he can now weight bare!
We will see Albert again next week for his second post op check 🐾

🚨Emergency Case of the Week🚨
Albert came into us after he was out walking in his favourite spot and suddenly he couldn’t weight bare on his leg!
After investigations this week from our clinical team, it was found that he had a fracture of the lateral condyle of elbow on his front leg and his owners were faced with the decision of amputation or orthopaedic surgery.
They chose the surgery and it was a huge success, the surgeon used a special curved plate as you can see in the before and after X-rays.
Albert is now home recovering with lots of cuddles and treats, he will be back for his 1st post op check this Saturday 🐾

✨Meet Teddy, he came to us with a cloudy eye which our vets recognised as hay poke. This is a very common injury with Guinea Pigs, it’s caused when hay gets stuck in the eye and it has now caused an eye ulcer for poor Teddy. You may notice the green colouring of his eye, this is special dye which is used to highlight any ulcers that may have been caused. He now has 2 lots of eye drops for the owner to apply a couple of times a day✨
