HALESOWEN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We are looking to add some more volunteers to our team on WEEKDAY EVENINGS ✨️

Reliability & commitment are a must 🫶

Shifts are about 2/3 hours long 🐾

Do you love cats ✔️
Do you love making a difference to their lives ✔️
Do you love kitty cuddles and playtime ✔️

If you have answered yes to any of the above, then please get in touch 🐾

Duties include but not limited to-

Cleaning cat pens
Feeding cats
Playing with cats
Socialising cats
Grooming cats
Weighing cats
Reporting any concerns
Restocking supplies

You must be able to-

Work as part of a team
Adhere to strict policies and procedures
Follow instruction
Communicate effectively
Be 16+ (candidates aged 18 and above are required to evidence a recent dbs)

It must be noted that the role can be fast paced and physically demanding. To include; steps up to the cattery, lifting of cat food and cat litter, pens at height and ground level.

Nicole is available to reserve 🩷

Gorgeous girl Nicole is health checked, and her vet work has started. Estimated at a year old, Nicole was a pregnant stray handed into the vets. She has been a wonderful momma, but she is so deserving of her next chapter. Nicole is a lively, confident, playful, and friendly little bean!

Nicole is vaccinated, neutered, chipped, flead, wormed, and health checked. She will leave rescue with 5 weeks of free insurance.

Ready early February, inbox us if you could offer this baby a home 🏡

Beautiful girls, Florence and Sadie, previously Jennifer and Taylor, have been adopted together ❤️

Florence was an incredibly timid little lady who required plenty of time, love, and patience whilst in rescue. Flo's confidence grew as she began to feel safe, and her sweet little personality shone. Sadie, the opposite 😂 inquisitive, uber confident and always after our attention. The girls were lucky enough to be spotted by a lovely couple who fell in love with them both and decided to adopt the pair!

The girls' new hoomans have been absolutely perfect for their transition into a home environment. Plenty of love, positive reinforcement, and following Flo's lead has been the making of her. She is happy, content, and thriving with her new hoomans! Sadie, loving life from the get-go. As it stands, Flo is very much a mommas girl, and Sadie follows her dad everywhere 😂🥰

Pretty impressive happy ending for the most wonderful little ladies! Well done, girlies 🩷🩷

Need your opinion guys………

We are getting asked more and more to take animals with long term conditions that other organisations (much bigger and more well funded than us) won’t take that would end up being euthanised if we didn’t.

What do we do? Do we keep taking them giving the bigger organisations a clear conscience knowing they are off the hook or do we refuse but raise this issue as high as we can knowing these poor souls lives will be ended early because they require funding and effort? I’m fuming, heartbroken and absolutely disgusted that this is the ‘norm’ for these bigger organisations. As you guys are the ones that fund our work, i thought it only fair to ask your opinions on this

🌟 All about me! 🌟

The Superstar edition!!

Name: Chip

Gender: Male

Age: 2 or 3 years old, when I arrived here at rescues, the vet lady estimated me at 2 years old. I've been here a while now, so I could have had a birthday 🎂

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Vet Work: Neutered, vaccinated & chipped. I have also been flea treated and wormed. No itches or nasties for me. I also have a clean bill of health from the vet lady.

Colours: Black and white, I always dress to impress in my smart tuxedo!

Favourite foods: Absolutely anything!! I have an excellent appetite. My favourite meals of the day are breakfast, and tea, with yummy treats inbetween 😂😂

Likes:
Fusses with all the people at rescue. Currently, I'm the longest resident here, so I know all the friendly volunteers and rescue ladies really super well. They've become my family. I am quietly confident and inquisitive, I enjoy exploring the cattery and like to play peep po with the other kitties. I'm very well socialised, and even on first name terms with the vet lady (after my tummy troubles a couple of months back). I loves chickens and the posh gourmet dinners that the rescue lady gives me after a pamper.

Dislikes:
Having had a poorly tummy 🥺 I got myself a little bit stressed when I first arrived at rescues. Although people affectionate, I took a while to adjust to the change in my environment, and it gave me an upset tummy. I was feeling quite rough and didn't eat properly for a few days, I was right off my food. Crazzyyy because I have the bestest appetite ever now I'm settled!! All the rescues people were very worried, and the vet came to see me regularly. She gave me some magic medicines that helped me feel betters. The rescue lady helped me stay clean by giving me a pamper now and again.... and although I wasn't particularly keen on baths, I always sat like the bestest boy and got rewarded with chickens afterwards!
I'm much better now, though, and a healthy weight again 😸

Gorgeous Chip is vet complete and looking for his forever home. He arrived in September as part of a hoarding situation. Unfortunately, Chip got a poorly tummy and has required some extra time and support to get back to tip-top health. Chip does get easily stressed in new environments, and this leads to a bit of an upset tummy, something any new hoomans must be aware of and be prepared to be patient with.

Chip is such a loveable character. He is a firm favourite among the team, and as much as we love him (rescue wouldn't feel the same without our boy), he deserves a home. A future full of patience, love, and security. It breaks our hearts that he's being overlooked week after week 💔💔

Gary has been adopted 🤎🤎

Our handsome lad is settling in wonderfully! His hoomans have given him plenty of time to adjust to his new surroundings, gradually introducing him to different parts of his new pad.

Judging by these beautiful pics, Gary has well and truly found his happy ever after 🫶

🩶 Frenchie Sponsorship 🩶

The girls have bagged them a long-term foster placement with the most loving, caring, and patient Momma!

As we were getting no interest in an adoption, this was the next best thing for them.

However, they still very much need your help! Olive is still on multiple meds, both are on a special diet, and they require a fair amount of cleaning products, and none of this is likely to change anytime soon.

Gorgeous little Luna, previously MJ, was adopted just over a week ago!

She's settling in wonderfully, enjoying a lap, and testing out all of the people beds in her new pad (see pic's!) 😂

After a pretty rubbish start to life, we're thrilled Luna has a lovely new family and her very own hooman big brother to grow up with!
