WAY BEYOND URGENT!!!!
This week we have had to turn away so many dogs and cats that we needed to help but just have no foster homes available. If you think you may like to become a member of our team helping those that cannot help them selves please read on......
Also needed cat foster homes, must be at home most of the day and have room to put a cage up and or a spare room.

Please read the whole post.........................
Hi guys, we are urgently looking for foster homes for dogs that come onto rescue.
You must be committed and be patient while we match the right dog to the right foster home but be flexible to take a dog with little notice.
We do have a certain criteria for our dogs as each one has its individual wants and needs.
Any children living in the home or visiting need to be sensible around animals and be over 13 years of age (or over 10 if the dog has lived with children before)
You must Live within 20 miles of B32 Birmingham. NO HIGH RISE FLATS!
You must have you own secure fenced garden (not communal)
You must be at home most of the time
You must have your own transport
You must have some experience of owning a dog and any other animals must be neutered, vaccinated and wormed and de-flead to date
Having training experience is a big advantage but not essential but you must be willing to work with the dog
You must have permission off your landlord to have animals if its not your own home.
Please put as much information on the form as you can and please, please, please if we call you to go through the form, answer the phone or the follow up text we send as we are all volunteers and some have day jobs too and we have to get through all the emails that come in daily, thank you for your understanding. ❤

Copied & posted from another group....Manor Farm Park, Northfield.....

DANGEROUS DOG!! If you have any information, please get in touch so we can report it as part of an ongoing police investigation. *The attached photo is from the internet and looks like the dog that attacked our family shih tzu*

UPDATE - I have been told by someone on Nextdoor that they think they know of the dog/owner, and they have also caused similar issues in Hazelwell Park. Absolutely disgusted that this has happened to our little Molly and I do not want this to happen to anyone else:

Last night at 5:15pm my boyfriends dad (Alan) was walking the family dog Molly - a 9 year old Shih Tzu - on her lead in Manor Park, Northfield when he spotted what he thinks was an American Pitbull / Staffie-cross off the lead with two female owners. The dog came running towards them so Alan picked Molly up and turned his back on it. After circling Alan and Mol for a few minutes, repeatedly jumping up and trying to get Molly, it made contact with her leg and ripped her out of his arms to the floor where it brutally attacked her and couldn’t be stopped despite two full grown men and another woman desperately trying to get it to stop.

At NO point did the owners attempt to stop the dog or even call it back - instead sending two children, aged maybe 10 over to “get the dog”.

The female dog owner then assaulted the woman who stopped to help Alan before eventually leaving the park with the dog STILL not on a lead.

The dog owner was described as approx. 5ft 7 with chin length afro hair and a slim build, in a long black puffer coat with two children around 10 - has previously been seen with an aggressive bloke in his 20s who wants to fight the world.

Molly is currently in hospital where she’s being treated for internal damage and deep puncture wounds to her a**s and groin. the dog and owners are known to locals as this is clearly something that happens all the time.

If you think you might know who these vile, irresponsible dog owners are please message me so these scumbags can deal with the consequences.

And if you have stray cats that you feed, please make sure they are safe too and have somewhere to go, or even set up a space in a spare room if you can.

Christmas Dogfest at 1364 Pershore Road, Birmingham, B30 2XU, United Kingdom on Sat Dec 11 2021 at 01:00 pm

10/12/2021

nicked this - it says it all
T’was the night before Christmas and all thru the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.
Our stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds with no thought of their dog that was filling their head.
With mom in her kerchief and I in my cap knew our dog was cold, yet didn’t care about that.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash, figuring our dog was free of his chain and into the trash.
The moon on the crest of the new fallen snow gave the luster of mid-day to objects below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear but Santa Claus with his eyes full of tears.
He unchained our dog once... ...so lively and quick… last year’s Christmas present now painfully sick.
More rapid than eagles he called the dog’s name and our dog ran to him despite all of his pain.
“On Dasher, on Dancer, now Prancer and V***n, on Comet, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen!”
To the top of the porch to the top of the wall “Let’s find this dog a home where he will be loved by all.”
I knew in an instant there’d be no gifts this year, for Santa had made one thing exceedingly clear.
The gift of a dog is not just for the season. We had gotten the dog for all the wrong reasons.
In our haste to think of the kids a cool gift there was one very important thing that we missed.
A dog should be family, and cared for the same. You don’t give a gift, and then put it on a chain.
And I heard him explain as he rode out of sight, “You weren’t given a gift, you were given a life.
A DOG IS NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS A DOG IS FOR LIFE!!!!!!!

Hi everyone. Could you please recommend your preferred groomer for your pup. Had a query, and good recommendations are always the best...🐾🐾

07/12/2021

Our charity is actively looking for volunteer puppy socialisers. We are looking for volunteers to provide a loving home and help us prepare our puppies over their first 14 months of life before they begin full time training as life-changing support dog.

You can find out more at https://www.supportdogs.org.uk/puppy-socialiser

Living in and around South Yorkshire or North Derbyshire, as a puppy socialiser you will play a vital role in our puppies' formative years, caring for a puppy in your home and providing them with the socialisation and training they will need. This is a unique opportunity to not only care for a lovely dog but also to make a significant contribution in changing the lives of people affected by autism, epilepsy and disability.

We will also consider puppy socialiser who already have an existing and happy pet dog of their own.
