We received a report tonight of a poor dog who passed away after suffering heat stroke 😢🥲

Please take care when walking your dogs in this heat

It may not be hot compared to other places but our Dogs are not used to these temperatures.

As set out in the article by VetsNow “our dogs haven’t had a chance to acclimatise to the sudden rise in heat. Dogs can take up to 60 days to acclimatise to significant changes in temperature, which isn’t ideal in the UK as the weather tends to change from week to week.

Don’t leave your dog in a car or caravan

Don’t walk them during the heat of the day - walk them early morning or at night

Make sure they have shade if they join you in the garden or keep them inside

Ensure they have a ready supply of cool but not cold water
