Harry! Harry has been coming to see us for weekly rehab. He suffered a spinal stroke which affected the nerves in his left hind limb, this left him struggling to do normal things such as scratching his ears! Luckily Megan managed to find the perfect spot!π₯°
The 2 videos are Vibe last year following his elbow surgery last October! As you can see his range of motion was reduced and he was circumducting the fore limbs, thanks to weekly treadmill sessions, physio and all of the hard work his mum puts in every day, Vibe has improved so much, he has gained muscle mass and his gait is better than ever! He placed 1st in his first ever obedience show this weekend! π₯ π
Harley the cocker spaniel! Harley has been coming for weekly swims to keep on top of his hip dysplasia and for his weight control! Regular hydrotherapy sessions have helped Harley to gain muscle around his hips to support the joints and live as close to a normal spaniel life as possible! Harley wears a swim hat to keep as much water out of his ears as possible! We also change his float coat into a harness half way through his sessions to increase his fitness and get him using his hind limbs more!#spaniel#cocker#cockerspaniel#hydrotherapy#caninehydrotherapy#veterinary#rehabilitation#caninwrehabilitation#canine#dog
This is Jura the golden retriever loving his hydrotherapy sessions! Jura originally came to see us for reduced range of motion in his hind limbs, after six weeks of weekly swims, you can see he can now achieve full range of motion! Not only that he absolutely loves swimming too!π¦π«§π
Bowie showing off his retriever roots! This boy has been seeing Megan for a few months due to his hind limb weakness, we have seen such an improvement in not only his strength but also his character he is back to his happy goldie self! And he has a new found love of swimming and chasing squeaky chickens!π¦π«§
Shadow is 7 years old today π₯³
Shadows mum kindly wrote a few words about why he comes to us; From a young puppy it was obvious that he didn't move well and after X rays at approximately 9 months it showed that the ball joints of his hips sat outside the sockets.
Surgery was offered but having had a lot of success with hydrotherapy with a previous dog with hip dysplasia we decided to try this option straight away. He was very unsure of the water and Anna took him under her wing and he learned to trust her. Shadow has been swimming every two weeks for over six years now and he is fit and has no medication.
He's a very sweet and happy boy.
Happy Birthday darling π
πWARNING - extreme cuteness and squeaky voicesπ
Check out this little fire cracker who joined Anna today as a introduction to swimming. This little one has high hopes for the obedience world and smashed her first session, making a wonderful positive association.
We really do share your dogs success with you β€οΈ
Check out the comments for a photo of the little one actually being still!
