Did you know that yesterday was stress awareness day ? As a dog groomer, the hustle and bustle of our work can sometimes lead to stress as well as factors like not charging enough to cover running costs. Trying to squeeze as many dogs in as possible to make ends meet and fear of losing clients by increasing prices, I was that person and you can see by the photo how burned out it got me

All of the above had me working a crazy schedule whilst trying to balance the books and getting seriously burned out in the process. Dog grooming is a very stressful job and although many think it must be great to play with puppies all day long this is far from the truth of what the job actually entails 🤯

It's important to carve some time for yourself and your own self care whatever this may look like to you whether it be a lunchtime stroll or listening to some meditation music in the salon, little small changes can make a BIG difference 💖✨️

For me adding Emmi-pet to my business is hands down the number one thing that's improved my life and my stress levels. It's why I'm so passionate now to help other groomers do the same. Here are some of the perks ⬇️

Sneak Peek! Behind the Scenes of My Recent Photo Shoot 📸

We kicked things off at my local Starbucks, which has become my go-to pop-up office when I need to escape the house and get some work done away from distractions! ☕️💻

The sun gods were shining down on us, so we were able to capture some incredible shots outside too. 🌞

I had the pleasure of working with the amazing Rachel again, a super talented North East-based photographer who I’ve worked with before. She’s not only brilliant at portrait photography, but her product photography skills are next-level too! 📸✨

It’s a common issue—small dog breeds are more likely to suffer from dental problems due to overcrowded teeth in their tiny mouths. 🐕🦷

Without regular care, plaque and tartar can build up quickly, leading to gum disease and other health problems.

That’s why consistent teeth cleaning is so important, especially for smaller dogs. If you’ve got a little one at home, it’s time to get serious about their dental care! 💖

Let me be honest—it wasn’t an easy decision at first.

Back in 2017, the initial start-up cost felt out of my reach. I was living alone, paying a mortgage, managing a town centre salon, and covering my employee’s wages.

It often felt like I was living hand to mouth, and taking on another expense seemed impossible.

Plus, Emmi-Pet was still relatively unknown in the UK at that time. I’d seen it at Mastergroom, but none of my grooming friends were using it yet. Without much info, I was unsure and hesitant.

Everything changed in 2018 when I hosted a seminar at my salon with a top dog groomer.

He raved about the product, and that gave me the push I needed to take the plunge! 💪

And here’s where the glow-up begins! Swipe through to see some of my very first social media posts—starting with a stock pic that I cringe at now (yes, that’s literally how I packed my orders on my living room floor 😂) and a pic collage that I can’t help but laugh at now. It’s so good to look back and see the progress!

My investment paid off massively—my toothbrush earned me £750 in the first month and a whopping £8,000 in the first year. 😱

I’ve since become a successful Emmi-Pet distributor, and this business has fit perfectly around motherhood, allowing me to support my family as a single mum while raising my daughter. 💖

So if you’re sitting on the fence, I totally get it! But sometimes, that leap of faith opens the door to new opportunities. 🌟

Today is World Mental Health Awareness day.

I've had my own fair share of mental health struggles in the past. However 2024 has been pretty challenging, its the worst ive felt since becoming a mum in 2020. Whilst I've been trying to get to the bottom of some neurological health symptoms, I've lost allot of confidence in both myself and my business🤦‍♀️

The fatigue and brain fog has been truly crippling, feeling really low and depressed with no interest in going out or being sociable. I've had a real loss of identity which I've never experienced before, feeling lost inside 🫥

I used to love content creation and making videos I've barely made any this year because I just don't feel like getting in front of a camera 90% of the time or feel the brain fog will jumble up my words and make me feel stupid.

But its not all doom and gloom, I'm grateful each and every day that I've found a job that can fit around my mental health ebbs and flows whilst solo parenting a very energetic 4 year old. And that my customers are amazing and very supportive always.

It's important to try to learn self acceptance and forgiveness. I'm on a healing journey and while I get to the bottom of what's going on with my health I promise to try and do at least one positive thing each day 💖

I know many people suffer with their mental health not just me, and im sending so much love to anyone who is battling issues not just today but each and every day.

Lets take a moment to prioritise our mental well being and support one another, and remember reaching out for help is a sign of strength ✨️

This is your sign to take a moment for your own self care, today I managed to meditate for 10 mins. Let's break the stigma around mental health and talk more openly. Reach out to a friend or family member today or check in with them to see if they are okay 💖

Well you could say I've been busy 🤣

All orders are now packed and up to date after my mini-break to Haven to celebrate my little girls 4th Birthday and have all been upgraded to tracked 24 service.

If you ordered large brushes there has been a longer than usual wait on these due to Emmi-Germany shipping out the wrong ones to me but these are all going out to everyone on Monday 🙌😁

I woken up at 3.30am and started packing this morning all of your orders so I can spend the rest of the weekend with my little girl guilt free 💖✨️

Some of the most special people in my life, like my good friend Amy, are ones I met online.

Amy and I first connected because we both ran grooming salons with the same name, Posh Paws, and I was in awe of her incredible grooming skills. 🐾✨

Our friendship started on social media, but it quickly grew beyond that. Amy even came to my salon to help train my employee before I went on maternity leave . 💕

Since then, she’s become part of my Emmi-pet journey, converting to an Emmi-pet distributor in my team and joining us at Crufts each year on the official Emmi-pet stand.

We’ve both got kids of similar ages, and we share so many of the same views and passions. 🙌

I couldn’t imagine life without her daily voice notes! Social media is so powerful for building real, lasting friendships—and I’m so grateful for it. 🌟

♻️🌍Recycling packaging materials ♻️🌍 Always wherever I can I will reuse old packing materials. Today this delivery from Matalan didn't fail on the packing materials. Recycling packing materials is kinder to the planet, if you ever do find any bubble wrap or plastic this has been re-cycled and I urge you to do the same with it. Do you have to clean the underside or the dogs teeth? The emmi-pet ultrasonic waves work around the dogs mouth and through the crevices and gaps in the teeth so that the underside of the dogs teeth are also targeted by the waves. The Dog Tooth Fairy-Bringing your dog magically sparkling teeth

I first heard about Emmi-pet a couple of years ago at Mastergroom , I was fascinated that plaque and tartar could be so easily removed without the need for traditional methods of having your pet put under anesthetic at the vets. I have 2 small dogs of my own a chihuahua and a dachshund, their teeth were’t bad, but they weren’t good either it was only a matter of time before they started to naturally deteriorate, I didn’t like the thought of them requiring big dental work at the vets in later years so with that I took the plunge and bought my Emmi-pet ultrasonic toothbrush.

I was really amazed at how fast my dog’s teeth became white again, healthy pink gums and really fresh breath, the whole procedure was so stress free and they were really accepting of it I decided to offer the Emmi-pet service to my dog grooming clients at Posh Paws in Haltwhistle, this service has proved to be really popular at my salon as a stand alone treatment or added onto a groom. The results I have seen have been amazing and the best part of it is that the dog’s seem to really enjoy having their breath freshened up too and the whole procedure is very relaxed as emmi-pet is silent and doesn’t vibrate.

I truly believe in this product and that’s why in 2019 I have became an Emmi-pet distributor, to show other groomers how this ancillary service can really enhance their business, bring new clients through the doors and boost their income. I also sell the brush to clients who may want to save money in the long run if they are travelling long distances to have emmi-pet done on their dogs teeth, or clients with multi-dog households where having their own brush would be of great benefit and make a financial saving on emmi-treatments.
