I thought I’d give you some ideas of who and what you could buy the calendar for.

Last year some customers told me they were buying it as a secret Santa gift which I thought was such a fab idea. The calendar isn’t too specific to anyone, but has a huge dollop of positivity, so who wouldn’t appreciate that?!

Some other customers were buying it for their teenage children, who needed a little bit of positivity whilst navigating hormones, emotions and feelings about themselves. This nearly made me cry because the thought that my little calendar could have a positive impact to a teen that is challenged by all of this, really made my heart sing 😊💕

I'm super excited to be going on my holidays eeeeeeek, I've kept it quite secret where I'll be going but in so excited I could literally burst✨️

💖🫶Honest post alert🫶💖

What is it with us mums? We do such an incredible job of raising our little ones sometimes single handedly......

We sacrifice allot for these small humans in our lives, we work so hard in many instances to provide financial stability for them, we don't sleep when they dont sleep , we have to take time off work when they are sick 🤒

Yet we repeatedly berate ourselves for not doing enough, like we should be able to do all of the things needed to raise children, keep the house orderly, clean, keep everyone fed walk the dogs. Whilst simultaneously run a business, get back to our clients, calls, emails, do our social media posts, book-keeping and whatever other business admin needs to be done 🤦‍♀️

But sometimes we just can't wear all of the hats at once, and that's okay, sometimes our kids get poorly and it's okay to take some time to be there for them.....and not feel such internal guilt for not feeling "productive" enough 🙌

Raising kids is one of the most difficult jobs on the planet and we could all learn to be a little kinder on ourselves, especially the mums.

Today I give yourself permission to be grateful (especially if you are self employed) you have created employement for yourself that can fit around life and its ups and downs and thats pretty frikken awesome if you ask me 🐕✨️

So are any other mums guilty of feeling like they're not achieving enough? When challenges are thrown your way? I'd love to know, and hope I'm not alone 💖🫶

Being a mum AND running a business?

I know how hard it can be- it really is no small feat. Some days it can feel like you’re spinning a hundred plates, and let’s face it, it’s one of the hardest jobs in the world. Here are my top tips for all the amazing mums out there juggling work and family life:

✨ 1. Be Kind to Yourself
Remember, you’re doing an incredible job—being a mum while running a business takes serious superpowers. Try not to waste energy comparing yourself to other businesses who might have more support or different family commitments. Everyone’s journey is unique, and you’re exactly where you need to be. ❤️

✨ 2. Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help
Asking for help isn’t a sign of failure—it’s a sign of strength. Lean on friends, family, or even your clients if you need a bit of flexibility. We all need our village, and you’ll often find others (including clients!) who totally understand the juggle of being a working parent. 💖

✨ 3. Look for Ways to Work Smarter, Not Harder
One of the best moves I made was adding services, like teeth cleaning, that generate more income per hour than grooming alone. Think about ways to bring in more income with less physical strain. It can make a huge difference, giving you more time to spend with your family! 🕒

Did you know that yesterday was stress awareness day ? As a dog groomer, the hustle and bustle of our work can sometimes lead to stress as well as factors like not charging enough to cover running costs. Trying to squeeze as many dogs in as possible to make ends meet and fear of losing clients by increasing prices, I was that person and you can see by the photo how burned out it got me

All of the above had me working a crazy schedule whilst trying to balance the books and getting seriously burned out in the process. Dog grooming is a very stressful job and although many think it must be great to play with puppies all day long this is far from the truth of what the job actually entails 🤯

It's important to carve some time for yourself and your own self care whatever this may look like to you whether it be a lunchtime stroll or listening to some meditation music in the salon, little small changes can make a BIG difference 💖✨️

For me adding Emmi-pet to my business is hands down the number one thing that's improved my life and my stress levels. It's why I'm so passionate now to help other groomers do the same. Here are some of the perks ⬇️
