🐓 All creatures great and small 🐓

Meet Little Hen - one of our more unusual clients! Unfortunately she had an incident of being Egg-Bound, where the egg gets stuck in the reproductive tract. In her case it was a very severe case with an extremely large egg, and due to the location it did cause soft tissue damage, more so through the right limb.

Following the removal of the egg and appropriate veterinary treatment she presented with intermittent lameness and was just not her normal self!

We’ve been working with Little Hen’s owners to strengthen her up through tailored exercise and soft tissue therapy. The Low Level Laser Therapy has been extremely beneficial for soft tissue healing and additional pain relief.

I’m very pleased to say that Little Hen is now perching, walking comfortably and able to balance herself whilst standing to preen her feathers 🪶

In the background of the photo you can just see Rex’s ear sticking out of the dog bed, a lovely 17 year old Border Collie who has regular maintenance treatment to keep him feeling comfortable 🐶 He was already deep into his post-treatment snooze at this point 🥰

🌟 BEFORE AND AFTER 🌟

A bit of a soggy morning out treating in the New Forest yesterday, but the lovely Teyah is always so sweet that it makes it worth it! 🐴

It’s been a little while since we’ve done a before and after - I took these photos to show Teyah’s owner and thought they would be great to share 🌟

In the first photo you can see a Left Caudal Tilt of the Tuber Coxae (Left side of the pelvis is tilting further backwards than the right) causing her to look as if she’s standing unlevel - however her legs were all square! You can see how much the pelvis influences barrel swing and forehand balance, with Teyah offsetting her weight more through the right forelimb to counterbalance the unlevelness behind.

The second photo is post treatment and she is looking so much more balanced already, with positive postural changes throughout her body! The circled lines on the photos are areas of fascia restriction, which were also improved following McTimoney Chiropractic and Soft Tissue Therapy 🦴

Meet Yoko and Koyo - 2 lovely Shiba Inu’s 🐶 They are both young rescue dogs who are very nervous around new people/in new situations.

They had their first treatments before Christmas and I was really pleased with how they both settled in to their soft tissue work, they had their follow ups last week and Yoko (Red) even let me rub her belly afterwards! 🌟

Their owner has seen a good improvement in behaviour, skeletal alignment and general comfort already which is great! 😌

It is so important to have your young dogs checked out, especially when a full history may not be known prior to rescuing, as small compensatory issues at a young age could develop into a more prominent concern as the dog gets older.

The Top Barn challenge is a great way to keep us all motivated during these horribly wet and windy winter months! You can do both ridden and in hand work, and the exercises give you such a great variety.

⭐ McTimoney Chiropractic - a Gentle and Effective treatment ⭐

The McTimoney technique is a holistic, non-invasive, whole body approach to treating musculoskeletal issues through the quick and light adjustment of bones. This specific chiropractic technique was first developed for humans by John McTimoney, and was later adapted for animals in the 1950s - hence the name!

🦴 The aim of McTimoney is to correct any subtle misalignments of the bones, in turn restoring correct nerve function, promoting self-healing and rebalancing the musculoskeletal system 🦴 We use a high velocity, low amplitude movement to gently and effectively recorrect these misalignments 🐴🐶

As Christmas draws closer I’d like to send out all my best wishes to my wonderful clients, old and new. Thank you for all your support over the past year, it’s been lovely seeing everyone’s updates and helping everyone feel a little more comfortable 🐶🐱🐴

2025 is bringing a big change for myself meaning that the business hours will be adapting slightly, however I will endeavour to make these changes as smooth as I possibly can (hopefully you won’t even notice!).

Sending all my love to those who lost their beloved animals this year, it’s an exceptionally hard time to be without them. If anyone needs any support, or just someone to talk to, please do get in contact.

Trot poles encourage your horse to push equally from behind, and are an excellent exercise for developing an equal stride length and for improving symmetry, straightness and coordination.

To negotiate trot poles sucessfully requires increased momentum, flexion of all the limb joints, power and spring.

The Alresford Show is such a friendly agricultural get together! I’ll be there nice and early to support those competing in our sponsored class LW/HW Cob. This is a London International Horse Show Qualifier so always a great turn out 🐴

The show takes place on Saturday 7 September - the Alresford Show is an annual event, always taking place on the first Saturday of September.

An amazing day was had by all at the first Hampshire Dachshund Festival 🙌 We saw some very cute sausages who all made their voices heard 🐾🥰 I think they all enjoyed their free treats 🐶
