🐾 Happy International Dog Day 🐾
Today is a celebration of our four legged pals, whether they are working dogs or a beloved companion - each one has a very special job to do 🐶

🎈 Aceso Animal Therapy is 5 today!🎈
5 years ago I decided to take the plunge in setting up my own business after finishing my Bachelors in Animal Therapy and completing my Equine Body Work course. Aceso was born - I like to keep people on their toes with guessing the pronunciation of names 😂
At the same time as starting the business I enrolled on my Masters degree with the McTimoney College of Chiropractic. Working full time in an office to fund my studies whilst attempting to run a business AND complete a dissertation and clinical exams was tough to say the least - add a global pandemic into the mix and I had myself a very stressful couple of years! 😬
The stress has all been so worth it though as I love the work I do! I am so thankful to each and every client and animal, whether you have been with me from the start or are just starting your animal on their therapy journey, I really could not be more grateful for your support and kind words ☺
Hopefully I have made you smile just as much as the lovely Buddy here, who belongs to our amazing sponsored rider - Shoncee 🐶
Thank you all, and have a wonderful weekend! ⭐

We had a lovely time at the RSPCA The Stubbington Ark Summer Fete on Sunday! Thank you to everyone who sent over photos of the lucky dogs with their free treat bags 🐶
🌟 NOTTY 🌟
Notty the Thoroughbred has had a HUGE transformation over the past 5 months! He had previously raced and is now being retrained as an all-rounder, prior to Chiropractic Treatments his body was struggling with the transition to his new ridden career. This is very common with the ex-racers in particular as we are asking them a completely new question - sometimes they need a helping hand to get them on their way!
The first photo shows Notty’s weak hindlimb muscle development along with a VERY prominent pelvic rotation when we first saw him in March this year. The second photo was taken 4 weeks afterwards at his follow up treatment, you can still see noticeable weakness through the right hamstrings in particular but a huge improvement in pelvic alignment.
The third and fourth photo’s are from today, his fourth treatment. He still has a way to go with gluteal strengthening and ridden work but he is so much stronger and more comfortable behind with the ongoing work from his owner in between treatments, an excellent farrier and a field routine that allows him to test out his gears regularly (he is an ex-racehorse after all!).
Well done Team Notty - fabulous results 🙌
A very warm week at the New Forest and Hampshire County Show!
A huge congratulations to the team at Royal Supreme Miniature Horses for winning our sponsored class - Miniature Stallion of the Year and qualifying for HOYS 👏
So lovely to see everyone supporting all the local businesses at the show and supporting local farmers, verderers and riders during the showing classes 🐴🐮🐷
We’ve had the pleasure of seeing a few new faces this week, one of those being the gorgeous Enni! A Finnish Lapphund and real life Teddy Bear 🧸 She was so well behaved for her first treatment, taking it all in her stride!
This year Aceso Animal Therapy is sponsoring the HOYS Qualifier - Miniature Stallion of the Year at the New Forest & Hampshire County Show! 🐴 I am so thankful to be given the opportunity to sponsor the show and to be able to support those taking part in the wide variety of Livestock Classes available 🏵
The New Forest & Hampshire Show will be running from the 30th July until 1 August, with our Sponsored Class taking place at 9am on Tuesday 30th July in the North Ring. I can't wait to see you all there! For tickets visit: www.newforestshow.co.uk/
Cracker - the star of our article in the recent issue of Animal Therapy Magazine - giving it a thorough review after his maintenance treatment today. I think it was a paws up from him! Maybe I should give all the animals some reading material post treatment?! 🐴🐶
A really lovely post from a new client! Old Boy Freddie had an incident when jumping off the sofa and definitely wasn’t himself, after the all clear from the vets I went out to provide gentle chiropractic techniques, massage therapy, and Laser to assist in his recovery. I’m very pleased that he is feeling better already and back to playing with his favourite tou☺️
Thank you to all my wonderful clients who recommend my services, it really is so kind of you and helps spread the word for Chiropractic Care for our animals 🐶🐴
Our lovely client Cracker features in the recent feline chiropractic article in Animal Therapy Magazine 🐱
I’m back! I had the most amazing trip to Scotland to catch up with an old friend and take some time to relax after a busy start to the summer - I managed to miss the first heatwave of the year here 🤣
I have just about caught up on messages/emails r.e appointments but if I have missed you please give me a nudge 🐴🐶
I am having a short break until Wednesday 26th June - all messages will be replied to when I return ☺️
Very proud to be a member of IAAT ☺️
We are delighted to introduce Eirlys Green from Aceso Animal Therapy to the IAAT Family 🥳
I am passionate about animal welfare and happiness - and always have been. From a young age my goal has been to help animals and their owners to live happy, healthy and fun-filled lives.
I am a McTimoney Animal Chiropractor and Soft Tissue Therapist providing treatments for small and large animals in Hampshire, IOW, West Sussex and Dorset. I completed a BSc (Hons) in Animal Therapy at the University of Essex, before training at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic and graduating with an MSc in Animal Manipulation (Chiropractic Techniques) in 2021.
As well as McTimoney Chiropractic and Massage Therapy, I provide Low Level Laser Therapy as a complementary tool in my practice - I find this has been particularly useful with the small animal rehabilitative treatments due to its non-invasive and quick acting nature. Before taking the plunge and starting my own business, I worked at a world renowned Small Animal Veterinary Referral Hospital (Orthopaedics and Neurology), and on Equine Competition Yards, so I have a wide range of hands-on experience with a variety of animals undergoing rehabilitative and maintenance therapies.
When I'm not out and about on the road treating clients I write on behalf of the McTimoney Animal Association for Animal Therapy Magazine - the magazine is such a great tool for both veterinary professionals and owners alike, I always look forward to seeing it in my letterbox!

I have been busy updating the website to make it more user friendly and to include links to articles and podcasts that I have taken part in - this page will be updated regularly so do keep an eye on it! My new McTimoney Feline Chiropractic Article is available online now with Animal Therapy Magazine and I can't wait to see it in print this week 🤩
I've also added some of the gorgeous photos taken by Ryan Dean Photography to the website, they are too good not to share! A huge thank you to our sponsored rider Shoncee at Larkrise Farm for allowing us to photograph the animal's treatments ☺️
Let me know what you think about the updates, I'm always open to new ideas! 🐴🐶

A quick reminder that I will be away from Saturday 22nd June - Wednesday 26th June for a mini break ☀️
Hopefully I will be having some lovely siestas in the sunshine over this time, like the VERY relaxed Titan after his recent treatment🐴
We ended the month of May with a trip to Pepperdrum AquaTherapy for their open evening with Dr Matthias Baumann - an FEI vet who is an exceptional equine rehabilitative specialist!
I was really impressed with the set up, the therapy room is so inviting for the horses (and owners), and Abbie and James are 100% invested in making sure all the animals are happy and comfortable with the treadmill, whilst also providing individualised exercise plans for both rehabilitation and maintenance sessions. They aim to provide rehabilitation livery soon, and I would fully trust the Pepperdrum team with any of my animals 🐴🐎
Water treadmills are such a useful resource in canine fitness and rehabilitation, so I’m sure we’ll see more people turning to this type of therapy for equine strengthening and conditioning work! I’ll pop a clip of it in action on my stories ☀️
Pepperdrum Aquatherapy is based at Pepperdrum Stables in Woolverton, Bath. If anyone has any questions about the benefits of equine hydrotherapy please let me know and I’ll be more than happy to have a chat, and put you in contact with Abbie and James ☺️
Event horses that had a lower total number of misalignments were more likely to be placed higher in a FEI 1* eventing competition. Further research of effects of correcting misalignments on performance parameters is recommended.
I’m very excited to be attending the Hampshire Dachs-Fest 2024. The event will be in Fareham on Saturday 31st August and all shapes and sizes of Dachshunds are welcome!
It is going to be a fabulous day of socialising, have a go activities, food and drink and a fun dog show! I will be there to have a chat about McTimoney Chiropractic, Massage and Low Level Laser Therapy for dogs 🐶 Of course, Sebastian the Skeleton will be joining me (he is becoming a bit of a celebrity!) 🦴
☀️ THURSDAY APPOINTMENT AVAILABLE ☀️
I have a last minute appointment available in the afternoon on Thursday 16th May, in and around the Portsmouth/Fareham area if anyone would like this please do message me!

The gorgeous Razzo really testing my arm strength during his treatment last week 😂 Razzo’s owner came to me last autumn to ask for help with a hindlimb weakness, following veterinary investigations. Upon initial palpation, Razzo had a very large pelvic rotation and tilt on the left hand side, which linked with his left hind limb weakness. He also had increased sensitivity through the left hand side of the neck and back, with a lateral restriction through the neck to the right hand side. Interestingly, Razzo had worked as a carriage horse for many years - and liked to be worked on the right hand side of the pair. Many carriage horses will turn in to their partner when working, so it is likely that this way of going had influenced Razzo’s skeletal misalignments and weakness. He continues to have regular maintenance treatments with myself, and as you can see he LOVES it - excited to see what the future holds for this gentle giant 🐴 #mctimoneyanimalassociation #mctimoneyanimalchiropractic #mctimoneyequinechiropractor #animaltherapy #registerofanimalmusculoskeletalpractitioners #hampshiretherapist

Venus testing out our competition prize Handsfree Handling 🐴 I’m so pleased with it 🙏 She worked out very quickly that she could rest the muzzle on something and the lick would be within even closer reach to her mouth 😂 This is going to be so useful for her chiropractic treatments, as she tends to get bored after a while if there isn’t another human around to entertain her! She loves these licks, and sometimes having it on the floor makes it difficult for me to do my job, so a mobile version is perfect!! The head collar is so pretty by itself too 🤩
Merry Christmas to all those celebrating 🎄 I feel very blessed to have had such a busy year, meeting lots of new animals (and humans!) and getting to do what I love 🐶🐴 This year I had my first article published, discussed topics over on the MAA podcast, sponsored a wonderful equine team (Larkrise Farm!), attended many shows (thank you to my mum for her patience and support with the trade stands 💃🏻) and introduced Low Level Laser Therapy into my treatments. What a year! It truly wouldn’t be possible without everyone’s support and recommendations, thank you so much for supporting me and my small business ⭐️ Here’s to an even busier 2024 (with hopefully fewer traffic jams 🚙) Eirlys 🥰
⭐️ FAQ FRIDAY ⭐️ How might my animal react after treatment? Many of the animals I see feel quite sleepy after their treatments, a bit like us when we go to the spa! It’s so important that we allow them the time they need to process the changes initiated through chiropractic treatment 🦴 The relaxation is quite contagious, as you can see in this video 😂 He was lining up to be treated next! 💆♀️ #mctimoneyanimalchiropractic #mctimoneyanimalassociation #mctimoney
⭐️ FAQ FRIDAY ⭐️ How do you assess horses for misalignments? 🧐 After taking a full history and watching the horse in hand I’ll do a full body check for skeletal misalignments, starting from the first cervical vertebrae and then working my way down to the pelvis and back through the spine 🦴 I recheck the misalignments before each adjustment is made, as a correction in one area of the body is likely to cause a change in another area. It’s also great for me to feel any associated soft tissue tension and whether this has been released following a chiropractic adjustment, or if further massage is required 💆♀️ This video shows me checking Venus for misalignments before her treatment a few weeks ago 🐎 #mctimoneyanimalassociation #mctimoneyanimalchiropractic #equinetherapy
