I have had the pleasure of treating little Alfie following spinal surgery a few weeks ago. He took a little bit of time to trust me, but once he realised I was the giver of only treats and love, we soon became friends. Alfie has progressed really well thanks to his family working hard following his rehab plan. Alfie can't wait to go on long walks with his sister again soon 🩵

This handsome boy is Duke. I started seeing him following his diagnosis of Lumbosacral Stenosis and Hip Dysplasia. I have worked with him to assist in improving his mobility and comfort levels. Initially Duke wasn't so sure about the strange lady in his house but as you can see by his second session he's relaxed into his treatment. He is such a pleasure to treat 🥰

Review from Trix's mum today:

'Trix, who is nearly 14, had her second physio session with Lisa today. Trix is not a tactile dog and rarely tolerates touch for more than a few minutes, but thanks to Lisa's calm, patient approach Trix settled well for the majority of her session. Lisa is very mindful of when Trix needs a break and Trix is free to come and go as she pleases. A few treats as bribery go a long way too! 10/10, highly recommended.'

I am very lucky to have extremely special clients which makes my job so rewarding. Trix's face in the first photo just makes me smile 😍

And the final introductory post is about this cheeky one...Bobble.. my little tripaw Bulldog. Bobble has had his right hind amputated at 5 months old so it's extremely important to keep his weight perfect and his remaining limbs and core nice and strong. As well as dealing with compensatory effects of being wonky such as tension through his back and in his front legs.
Fortunately Bobble will do anything for a treat so is relatively easy to treat and he loves a massage disguised as a cuddle. Bobble is now 4 and is loving life expecially keeping me on my toes!

My third introductory post is for this very special boy... let me introduce Reef, he is a 13 year old German Shepherd. Isn't he so handsome?
Physiotherapy helps to assist in reducing pain, maintaining range of movement and nerve function and maintaining muscle mass and tone. Together this aids mobility and improves Reefs quality of life. I use laser therapy and pulsed electromagnetic field therapy alongside manual techniques such as massage and passive range of movement to achieve this.

Reef is so rewarding to treat as the pain relieving benefits are immediately noticeable. Longer term, you can see his improved mobility and function. Not to mention how cute he is when he nods off during treatment! I have so much love for this special boy ❤️🐾

This handsome boy is Sulley. Sulley was diagnosed with hip dysplasia as a puppy which has since been been conservatively managed. Hip dysplasia is a relatively common genetic condition especially in certain breed such as German Shepherd's. It is diagnosed through x-rays with your vet and then treatment options can be considered including surgical and non surgical.

Regardless of whether surgery is considered, physiotherapy can help improve and maintain joint range and muscle mass, manage pain and reduce and prevent compensatory issues. Physiotherapy can be beneficial prior to surgery to ensure the animal is in their best possible condition prior to surgery which will help with the rehabilitation post surgery.

So my content on my new page should start with this beautiful boy 'Storm'. The reason I want to do better and be better for all the animals I meet. I made a promise to this one that I would never stop learning so I could improve the quality of life of so many other animals.

Storm suffered with Osteoarthritis. Physiotherapy is brilliant to improve and maintain joint range which is paramount for dogs suffering with this degenerative condition. It can also help with the prevention of muscle loss and reduce compensatory issues.

Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to chat about how I could help your animal!
