The sweetest boy ❤️ a regular of mine, who is a house favourite when he happens to come for a groom out of school hours and my children are home 😁
Love you Ernie ❤️
Helping this beautiful baby boy learn to navigate the small puzzle board last night 😁 he caught on so quickly ❤
Happy to have this lovely boy back 🥰 he is so funny with his demands for tummy rubs ❤
SPRAT ATTACK
This is one of the games I devised (obviously not the first person to have done something similar 😄) in line with my interests of enrichment in the home.
I use Sprats because they are extra smelly which helps when initially getting them used to the task.
This video isn't the best example, as Todd didn't directly follow where I had laid the trail, he went back to where he knew he had found the first one and then sniffed it out from there 🤣
I begin by allowing him to smell the treat, so he understands the smell he is looking for. He is then sent out of the room whilst I lay the trail, I start somewhere easy and with each 'level' it becomes harder for him to find as he has the trails of old scents to navigate too, meaning he has to use his nose extra hard to find the next treat :)
This is a simple game that can be done on a rainy day, or just to tire the minds of boisterous/young dogs and can even help anxious pups as they have something to focus on :)
Proud moment when one of my boarders figures out the enrichment toy I built from scratch 😁❤
I am big on mental stimulation for my guests and have a range of options from kongs, snuffle and lickit mats, puzzles, the homemade toy in the video (I fully intend to find a good name for it :) ) and *games that I have devised myself using treats, I am always looking to add to this list so that the choices for them are endless.
*Example - 'Sprat Attack' 🐠 ... don't hesitate to ask me about this one 😁
I personally find home enrichment just as, if not even more important than, physical stimulation and am dedicated to furthering my knowledge on this topic to ensure I can provide amples of options and opportunity to each guest.
Enrichment holds so many benefits for a dog and can even aid in anxiety.
I wanted to share this video because not only am I feeling like a proud Mum, but it is rewarding to see that my interest and efforts have paid off ❤❤❤
