Baby Malti-poo Abby, who's just 12 weeks old, has been to see what it's all about, with her big Brother Bailey. Just lots of fun and smelling and touching things today, to get her used to coming, then sitting next to Bailey to spectate, as he's such a good boy xx

REMINDER—I will be hanging up my scissors 3 days a week after Christmas, so working just 4 days. Obviously I will get booked up much quicker, so may have to do a bit of juggling with appointments. I will be covering my usual days but over 2 weeks. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday. Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Next year is quite busy already, but if you haven’t yet booked, and would like to do so, please drop me a message.

Any clients who would like the pre christmas bath and spruce up with Christmas products, please drop me a message too, as there are limited spaces left. ( NB. If you would like the Christmas shampoo, conditioner, and finishing spray using for any Christmas full grooms already booked, it will be an additional £5, just to cover the cost of these expensive products- let me know when you arrive)

This photograph is published with permission of the little dogs owner, just to highlight the importance of checking around the ni***es of female dogs. Mammary tumours (breast cancer) is a real thing in dogs, and very treatable when diagnosed early. Unfortunately this little girl, who has visited me for years, is unable to have it removed because of other very serious health problems, but is regularly reviewed by the vets.

It’s that time of year again, when I like to start thinking about collecting food, treats, toys and blankets etc. for various local animal rescue centres. If anyone would like to donate a little something, that would be lovely. Hot dog sausages ( human), sardines and Chappie tinned meat are very welcome, but absolutely anything would be fantastic, and it doesn’t have to be new. If anyone wants to make a small cash donation, that’s good too, and then I can save the money to buy a larger item such as a bed. Thanks in advance. Unfortunately I will no longer be taking on any new clients at all, as I will be reducing my working hours after Christmas, and hopefully hanging up my scissors 3 days a week and cutting down to 4 days working, instead of 6 and more often than not 7! This obviously means that I will get booked up faster, so am more than happy to do block bookings if you have particular dates in mind. Thanks for your understanding, Diane🐾

Photographs of doggie mouths I've seen this week alone whilst grooming. Good examples of why owners should take a couple of minutes out of every day to brush their pets teeth! I do ultra sonic cleaning, but these are way beyond cleaning now unfortunately.

Hi, just putting the feelers out, to see if any of my clients, or friends and relatives of my clients, would be interested in having their dog walked? I’m thinking about bringing my Husband on board as a partner in my business so we can expand our pet services. This would be on a one to one basis only, unless walking 2 dogs from the same family. It would be strictly on lead exercise (far too many dogs have been lost by dog walkers with off leash exercise) but he would be happy to walk dogs if owners have a preferred route. All appropriate insurance would be in place, and he would be dog first aid trained. Just comment if this is something you may possibly be interested in for the future. Thanks for reading. Diane x

I've had a few clients ask me why it's neccesary to clean their dogs teeth? Imagine how our own would look, feel and smell if we didn't clean them regularly. That's the answer! This is a very small selection of some that I've seen over the last few months.

Veterinary treatment is basically private medicine. Just in case people aren't aware, you can register your pet and receive treatment from more than one vet. If in doubt, get a second opinion with a different practice !
