Zero the Schnauzer, has joined the family temporarily, he was in training for personal protection/security with his previous owner but so far hasn’t shown the right signs for that line of work.

He will be undergoing some basic training with us and will be looking for an active pet home in the very near future!

Today I made a trip to London to visit Tocho, the Shiba Inu.

Tocho is a complex little fellow, as Shiba’s usually are. As a puppy he displayed some very small signs of aggression, which his owner took very seriously and since then has worked hard on his obedience and confidence around people.

In the Summer 2023, Tocho became really unwell, vomiting & diarrhoea, sometimes vomiting blood too, that lasted for around 6 weeks. After many vet trips, tests & injections she never got to the bottom of it.

Tocho has now recovered physically, but the whole ordeal was so traumatic for him it has had a huge effect on him mentally.

Tocho is so fearful of going outside now, he will bite if you attempt to even put his lead on!

We ended the session with some freeshaping, rewarding Tocho for choosing to engage with his lead and letting him choose the distance between him and the lead, ending the session with him nice and relaxed right in front of his lead.

Very interested to see how Tocho progresses with this concept, stay tuned for future updates!

Beau has joined us for residential training to cover all her basic obedience.

Beau has already completed 2 months of residential training elsewhere, however the level of training she received left a lot of holes in places and her obedience has started falling apart and is very unreliable.

We are starting at square 1 and that is with motivation. Without a motive, we have no reward and without a reward we cannot teach.

Beau already knows a lot of commands but there probably wasn’t a lot of motivation in the learning phase, only pressure.

Beau has been with us for a week now and only today she felt comfortable enough to play with me. Hand feeding is progressing ever so slowly and she will quite often turn her nose up at any food i have on offer. She’s very much a one handler type dog and it’s taking a little longer for her to trust me but once we have that, it will be plain sailing.

‼️URGENT ‼️

Unfortunately Rusty is back with us through no fault of his own and needs to be rehomed by the end of this week.

I was due to move house this week but I was let down at the last minute and now I have been left homeless until a suitable property comes up.

I will be staying with a friend and as it stands Rusty will have to live in my van as there is no space for him there.

He MUST go to an experienced dog handler. Brilliant working dog. Would be most suited as a security/yard dog.

Can drop off to anywhere in the UK.

Temporary home for him until I find a house would also be appreciated!!

If everyone could please share this post far and wide, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Name: Peggy
Breed: Coonhound
Age: 1y8m

Peggy is here to brush up on her basic obedience and social skills.

Peggy has a good level of obedience and her recall is pretty good, however her high prey drive gets the better of her sometimes!

Peggy used to go to daycare where she unfortunately picked up some bad habits when it came to socialising with dogs, shes very friendly but can be a bit overwhelming when greeting some dogs. She also has some fear reactivity towards shepherd/husky looking dogs.

I’ve been really looking forward to working with Peggy, as she is a breed I’ve never met before and the challenges it may bring!

Name: Lola
Age: 9M
Breed: Mastiff Cross

Lola is here for 4 weeks to address some pretty intense reactivity/leash frustration.

Lola is a rescue dog so we don’t know much about her past experiences with other dogs. However the ones we do know about haven’t always gone that well.

Lola’s reactivity comes from insecurity and fear, and she is not afraid to use her teeth to scare dogs away.

Lola has been with us a week and a half now and already achieved so much! She’s been on several pack walks, she’s much more comfortable around dogs and we’ve already started working on some obedience!

Nala is back!

Nala had to go home from her residential training early because she came into season, but she’s back now and much more eager to work!

Over the last couple weeks we’ve been working on building drive as Nala can be quite the couch potato.

Her play drive is through the roof, which is great ,but her food drive is still a work in progress!

Nala will also be undergoing an assessment this week to see if she is suitable to start bitework training, fingers crossed she has what it takes!

Raja Update!

I had a follow up session with Raja a few days ago, he has been home over a week now. His owner has been keeping up with his training and it was lovely to see how confident she is handling him now.

He goes on off leash walks daily, he is getting the mental stimulation he desperately needed through training and play and his reactivity is non existent!

I absolutely loved working with Raja and I can’t wait to see him on his adventures in the future! 🥰

⭐️ 5 Star Review ⭐️

“We couldn’t recommend the team at EVOAK K9 Training enough!

Started working with Dalia a few months back in 1-2-1 sessions to help with Mila’s play skills and leash walking. As time went on Mila was growing more wary of people (breed trait) and started presenting reactive behaviours so we decided to go for residential training. To say the results Dalia achieved in 2 weeks is life changing is an understatement!!!

Mila now has full off leash freedom and is trusted to make the right decisions when in situations that previously resulted in a reaction. Before the residential training we would limit the environments we would go and be selective on where we walk so we could avoid anything that made Mila uncomfortable. Now we can go anywhere knowing that both Mila and ourselves are enjoying it!

We are going to continue working with EVOAK to develop Mila’s training even more and there is no one I would trust more to look after her.”

Name: Buddy
Age: 18M
Breed: Standard Poodle

Over the next few weeks we will be working on Buddy’s recall, basic obedience, leash walking and dog neutrality.

Buddy already has a good understanding of his commands when no distractions are present, the problem is when there are other dogs around. Buddy has developed some mild leash frustration to other dogs and walking him on lead is quite a challenge too.

Buddy also likes to chase squirrels, as well as joggers and children on scooters/bicycles. He lives in central London and chasing a squirrel out of a park could be fatal so off leash control is very important!

I’ve been really excited to work with Buddy, I can’t wait to see what we achieve 🤩

⭐️ 5 Star Review ⭐️

“Jett, our 12 month old Doberman at the time of training was an absolute nightmare. His leash walking was so bad we struggled to give him the exercise he needed to keep his energy levels in check. Due to his leash walking we were never confident enough to give Jett off leash freedom so we never really had the chance to recall him or let him be an active dog. Following his 3 week board and train he’s come back a completely new dog. His leash walking is effortless and his recall/obedience is so good now we can hardly believe it. I’ve recently been on a short holiday so Jett has been getting walked regularly by different people who have all noticed the massive change in his behaviour, many of them couldn’t take him on walks prior to the training.

From a service perspective Dalia couldn’t have been better with regular updates and plenty of videos showing his training. She really has turned Jett into the dog we wanted.

Thanks again.”

⭐️ 5 Star Review ⭐️

“I'd like to say a really big thank you to Dalia for everything she has helped us with. We came to her with two very different dogs: a boxer, who we adopted aged 2 and was not socialised around other dogs (nervous, unfriendly towards other dogs, tendency to rush up to dogs when off lead) and a golden retriever who is full of energy and wants to play with everyone and everything she meets.

I was not able to walk them together without feeling very stressed. We tried numerous trainers, training classes, and a behaviourist but nothing has helped as much as Dalia's training.

Having our dogs fully immersed and around other dogs 24/7 for 4 weeks has allowed us to give them both off-lead freedom and I can see how much happier they are. And we as owners are so much more relaxed on our walks now too! My only regret is that I wish we had done this much sooner.

Dalia formed such a strong connection with our nervous boxer girl, which I never thought would be possible and really shows how great she is with any and all dogs. Our boxer absolutely adores her and I am certain we will be using Dalia's boarding service whenever we go on holiday :)

Dalia also genuinely cares about the progress of our girls after the training, which is lovely to see, and she has answered so many of my questions with nothing but patience and understanding. Thank you again!

Name: Rio
Age: 8 Months
Breed: Beauceron

Over the next 4 weeks we will be working on dog neutrality, recall, obedience and settling outside and at home.

Rio has confidence issues around new dogs and can get snappy if they get close, but not every time. However when she’s on walks with other dogs, she is very rude, boisterous and overly pushy to play.

Fortunately she has a brilliant owner who is very dedicated to her training, she has great foundations and her basic obedience is at a really good level.

Rio’s owner would like her to be his assistance dog in the near future, so we will be sharpening up her obedience and working on human & dog neutrality when out and about in public.

I feel very privileged to be helping Rio and her owner on this journey!
