🌽🌽🌽 Gloucestershire dairy farmer, David Blanch, discusses how Physiostart from TIMAC AGRO has improved maize establishment for the past eight years:

β€œWe started using Physiostart about 8 years ago because we were finding it always a struggle to get the maize away quick enough.
So, we used it the first year and were very pleased with the results. Then, the second year we did our own independent trial with Physiostart and a competitor product and the results were phenomenal… we dug up a plant after about a month and the root structure from the Physiostart crop was probably twice what it was with the competitor product, so that galvanised our reasons for carrying on with Physiostart to this day.”

Have you heard about the ultimate starter fertiliser, providing protected controlled-release nitrogen combined with a unique, water-soluble phosphate? 🌱

Fully available at all pH levels, even in highly calcareous soils, Activ’N from TIMAC AGRO can be used at much lower rates compared to conventional water-soluble phosphate (50%) giving farmers better results with less inputs.

Would you like to improve maize establishment and yield? 🌽

To get your maize crop up and away, apply the proven microgranular starter fertiliser Physiostart from TIMAC AGRO. This tried and tested formulation provides a concentration of highly available nutrients, soluble phosphorous, protected nitrogen, sulphur, calcium and zinc for optimal efficiency. This optimises root development and structure giving maize the best possible chance.

Back in the warmer months, we caught up with farmer, Alec Clouting, regarding our PROTECT nutrition blocks which are designed to reduce internal and external parasites amongst livestock.

Alec is Farm Manager at Field Place Farm in Dunsfold, Surrey, where he has a 100-cow suckler herd along with 150 breeding ewes. πŸ„πŸ‘ He reported:

β€œI’ve found these blocks to be great.

Our sheep and cattle have access at all times as they are on a mixed rotation grazing system.

I’ve made a large saving replacing traditional garlic molasses buckets [with PROTECT blocks] and they seem to be enjoying them. There has not been a fly problem with them at all.”

Today is 🌱

More than 95% of our food is grown in soil and the survival of our planet is dependent on this precious asset.

We understand the importance of optimising soil fertility and sustainably maintaining this vital resource to continue producing food and supporting life.

Soil health is critical for agricultural production worldwide. A decrease in soil life leads to infertile, polluted, and unstable soils. This decline in soil quality adversely affects crop productivity and agricultural sustainability.

Today, soil health is threatened by several factors, both natural and manmade. Microbial activity is affected by variations in temperature, moisture, soil texture, structure, salinity, and pH. Additionally, excessive use of fertilisers and phytosanitary products, along with soil compaction, can harm soil microorganisms and reduce their beneficial activities.

THE ANSWER:
At TIMAC AGRO, we have a solution to tackle this issue. N-PROCESS is a controlled release Nitrogen technology with a microbial activator. It induces an increase in soil microorganism activity turning organic nitrogen into mineral nitrogen.

THE PROOF:
A study conducted in 2009 by Ciavatta, at the university of Bologna in Italy, demonstrated an increase of soil respiration with the use of our technology. With N-PROCESS, the cumulative respiration of microbial biomass increases by 100% in comparison with the control. The use of N-PROCESS increases soil life. 🌱
