I’m so sad to learn another of my long-standing regular visitors crossed Rainbow Bridge last week. Lovely Monty has been coming to see me for almost seven years so you can imagine how fond I was of him. He was a gorgeous boy and I will miss his visits.

I really love my job but there is one huge downside I never thought of when I first started… losing one of “my” dogs.

Beautiful Ella has been with me since I first opened nearly 7 years ago. She was a sweet, gentle soul, nervous of the grooming process but we built a strong bond over the years. I will miss her visits.

One of my longstanding regulars sadly lost their older dog a few months ago, leaving their younger one (and themselves) bereft.
The antidote? A new baby sister!

We all know new pups are never “replacements” but they can help to fill holes in their family’s broken hearts.

And little Maisie is a joyful addition to the Dexter’s family too. After a superstar performance at her first puppy intro yesterday, this tiny cutie fell fast asleep in the crook of my legs waiting for mum.

Despite the best efforts of the weather, the flora and fauna of the Common are kicking into action. Snowdrops have been and gone, now bluebells are in full bloom. If you look closely there are even some harebells too. A cuckoo has been heard in the woods, alongside the more usual chiffchaffs, robins...
