🐴WHY IS LONG-REINING BENEFICIAL TO OUR HORSES 🐴
💕For Young horses: 🐎
The main reasons for long reining are:
* To teach a young horse to move forward confidently;
* To mouth a young horse;
* To improve the horse's balance;
* To improve the horse's carriage and gait;
* A great way to keep horse and rider fit without the weight of a rider.

Long-reining is a great way to exercise your horse if you're unable to ride for any reason or you're bringing your horse back into work after a break.
The main benefit of long-reining over lunging is that you can work your horse in a straight line (this is the best exercise a horse can do)
Straight line is also a fantastic way to bring a horse back into work after lameness, injury, it is used in a wide range of rehabilitation programs (such as horses coming back from kissing spine Operations)
It also allows you to see your horse working from the ground.
This is baby Walter (look how cute he is🥰)
A lovely 3 year old I have been working with this would have been his 3rd time on the long reins and he's taken to it like a duck to water💙
Working on his balance and getting him moving forward confidently on his own 💕
