We’re looking for a warehouse operative for full-time role,- mon-fri, 9am-5pm, so 40 hours/ week. Half hour paid lunch break. This job also requires some van driving, delivering goods out to local customers, so clean driving licence essential, aged over 25 (for insurance purposes). Counterbalance forklift licence would be useful, though training can be given.
Remuneration between £13-£14.50 per hour depending on experience. 21 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays.
Staff benefit: entitled to buy any goods in shop at cost price, solely for your own use.
The job is very varied, but does involve lots of lifting, so you must be physically fit. Essentially, trucks to unload, usually palleted goods, brought into warehouse, pallets stripped down, goods checked off against delivery note. Then goods moved away into various locations.
Loading of goods into customer’s cars. Occasional serving in shop during busy periods (using touch-screen tills,- very user friendly and intuitive).
Replenishing stock in shop from warehouse.
Keeping working areas clean and tidy.
Organising warehouse in safe and logical system for good stock rotation and access to all stock.
Confidant, friendly manner, as there will be some customer contact.
