Ripley came to my classes at the beginning of 2024, but her dad called me a few weeks ago saying she's started randomly barking at people on their walks 🤔 And pulling horribly on the lead 🙈

We booked in a training walk and it was quickly evident that Ripley is not comfortable or confident around traffic, especially on busy roads. This is the main contributor to her lead-pulling, as she's trying desperately to get away from the road!

We had a great walk, by the end of the hour Ripley was much calmer, more focused on her dad, and less bothered about the environment 🥳☺️💕

Another addition to the Pooches gang! This is Hovis (awesome name 😍), he's a patterpoo - a patterdale crossed with a poodle 😃

Hovis used to be a happy-go-lucky little soul until he was launched at a few years ago by another dog on a walk 😞 Since then, understandably, he's very defensive when he even sees another dog in the vicinity.

The plan going forward is:

🐶 to change Hovis's walks (for the time being) so they're as trigger-free as possible as much for his sake as his humans!

🐶 bring plenty of calming enrichment activities into his life to naturally lower his stress levels and promote more sleep

🐶 embed some training techniques to use on walks

Well Artemis beggars around on the lawn with a prized tupperware she nicked out of the cupboard 😂

Amber absolutely rocked all her new training at our first session a couple of weeks ago, and she's making really great progress on her training walks as well 😁

She's incredibly vocal around other dogs, whether it's because she's desperate to say hello or she wants them to go away is a little unclear at the moment (even Amber isn't sure it seems!).

So, we're working on her focus on her humans and general calmness at a nice distance from other dogs for now. All whilst ensuring she has lovely sniffy, enriching walks 😍💞

Ivy is 8 months old and is struggling with being left home alone, or indeed being left in a room while mum goes elsewhere in the house 🥺

Fortunately her humans' current work pattern means that Ivy doesn't need to be left alone, so there's plenty of opportunity to work on helping her feel better about solo time ☺️

Despite the utterly ridonkulous British weather 😜 we had 2 fantastic mantrailing sessions this weekend!

Don't ask me what time I had to get up both days to make sure we started early enough to avoid the heat though ✋ 😂

Great work from Teams 🌞 Hector 🌞 Huxley 🌞 Chita 🌞 Poppy 🌞 Harry 🌞 Murphy 🌞 Pancake 🌞

And a huge Harrogate Mantrailing welcome to Team Gus who took to the trails like a proverbial duck to water 😃

Handsome Django took a while to come anywhere near me when I met him and his humans last week. He's very cautious around new people especially in his home 🥺

I gave him plenty of space and let him take his time in getting accustomed to my presence, and eventually he was pootling around near me 🥰

I'm going to be helping Django with his confidence and working towards getting him walking nicely on the lead 🐕‍🦺

This is Milly and I'm everso slightly besotted with her already 😍

It was far too hot for any training for this baby this week so we focused 👇🏻

🐶 on how to get her to love her crate
🐶 toileting habits
🐶 sleep routine
🐶 nutrition
🐶 16-week socialisation period
🐶 body language and consent around smol humans (!)

All very important foundations for a baby floof 🤗
