All microchip databases now charge new puppy / cat owners to register their contact details.

Smarttrace who I use were the last to offer free transfers from breeders to new owners, they have recently updated this and now charge new owners (it’s still free for the breeder) £19.95 per pet.

I have searched for a database that is free but as mentioned above there are no companies offering this anymore.

This applies if you have your dogs / cats microchipped at the vets (vets use the same databases as mobile implanters).

The new owners will still be charged to transfer into their names.

It is a legal requirement that all puppies/kittens are registered in the breeders name first.

Just to reassure breeders, once you, the breeder, have paid for the microchips to be implanted there will be no further cost to yourself.

However the new owners will have to pay to transfer the microchip into their name and add their contact details.

What’s on the menu for little dogs this week?

🐾 Walks and pop ins only for Monday & Tuesday (with an early finish Tuesday)

⛰️ Midweek break away to The Lake District - the dust and mud here at LDHQ is just too much and I need to reset.

👶 I’m back in time for my weekly baby fix at Waterbabies, Starbeck 4pm Thursday.
The first underwater swims are so✨magical✨to watch and a must for any baby. Spaces available 12-18 month class!

🏡 Friday, I have some space if anyone is needing a one off walk or pop in?
My regular pop in and walk is having some family time so it’s just one Stay & Play home visit for me atm.

Do you have a dog in need of some serious training? Don't worry, you're not alone! On Thursday The Dogfather will be back in the studio and he's looking for viewers and their dogs to join him for some 1-to-1 puppy training!

To be in with a chance of taking part, simply record a short video, including your dog, telling Graeme the problems you're having and why you need his help. You have till 4pm, and you will need to be available to bring your dog to the studio on Thursday morning. 🐶
