Its been a busy couple of months since closing the riding school and we have been overwhelmed by everyones support, we now have a new page for the livery yard please head over to Springwood stables and give us a follow and see what we get up to over the coming months x

Yesterday saw the closure of the riding school, it has been an emotional week for us all.
We finished yesterday with the annual sharers Halloween show with the sharers sending us out in style.
Following the show we had a small celebration to wish Debbie a happy retirement (well semi retirement) after teaching hundreds of children to ride over the years.
We would like to thank everybody for their support over the years and especially the past month, we are pleased to say that all of our horses and ponies have now found loanees or new owners with many of them staying with us on livery.
We will keep facebook updated with any loan opportunities and livery spaces should any become available.

IMPORTANT RIDING SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENT.

After 18 years at Springwood stables as Greatham Equestrian Centre we have made the difficult decision to close the riding school with effect from 31st October 2024. This is a decision that hasn’t been taken lightly but one that we have considered a number of times over the past few years. All lessons and half term activities will continue as normal until 31st October.
Financially we haven’t fully recovered from the Covid 19 closures and with the increasing costs of insurance, supplies, tack, veterinary fees, amenities and cost of living, unfortunately the riding school is no longer a viable option for us, and we need to move in a slightly different direction to ensure the future of the yard.
The yard will be remaining open as a livery yard, with some of our ponies available to loan and keep with us on livery.
If you have any valid gift vouchers these must be used by 31st October 2024 they can’t be refunded.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients past and present for their custom and support over the past 18 years, we have loved teaching you all and watching your journeys, with many clients/sharers going on to own their own horses and ponies. We wish you all the best with your future riding.
