Just a dog.
From time to time people tell me “chill out, it’s just a dog” or “it’s a lot of money just for a dog.” They don't understand the distance traveled, the time invested, or the costs incurred by "just a dog".
Some of my proudest moments have occurred with “just a dog.”
Many hours have passed being my only company "just a dog", but not for one moment did I feel despised. Some of my saddest moments have been because of “just a dog,” and on those gray days, the gentle touch of “just a Dog” gave me comfort and the reason to get through the day.
If you also think “it’s just a dog”, then you’ll probably understand phrases like “just a friend”, “just a sunrise” or “just a promise.” “Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure unbridled joy. “Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
For "just a dog" I will get up early, take long walks and look forward to the future. So for me and people like me, it’s not “just a dog,” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the memories of the past, and the absolute joy of the moment. “Just a dog” brings out the good in me and takes my thoughts away from myself and daily worries.
I hope one day they can understand that it’s not “just a dog”, but the one that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a human.” So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog”, just smile because they “just don’t get it”.

Even if it isn't a lot, sometimes the rain can make a scene so magical 🤩

Last year I got to meet Nelson's older brother, Ronnie the cocker spaniel. His owner said she had always owned bigger dogs and would love one again in the future so when she got this adorable boy, I was honoured she came back to me for some more photos 😍

Social media has been whirlwind of a place again, algorithms all over the place, accounts that barely post getting more and more traction. It's a hard game to play and sometimes makes you feel disheartened but I just gotta just carry on pushing and sharing the work that I love making 🥰

Ronnie had his first ever groom yesterday at Bubbles Pooch Parlour and he loved it! Trinity & Emma were so lovely. I highly highly recommend them ❤️
They are just down the road in Witley.

“Running a business is really hard”

“What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore. You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there just is no work life balance when starting a new business. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a partner, family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially this past year. Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient….. and hopefully more of us will stick around!”

I’ve always dreaded this day and didn’t think it would come so soon but sadly we said goodbye to our golden boy this morning. Toughest thing I have ever gone through but feel relieved to know he is out of pain and stress. He was the best damn dog who made us laugh every single day.

We all had a slumber party in the lounge on his final night with us and we know he loved every minute even though he was too tired to really show it.
There’s too many photos I could add so I will just add some of my favourites for now. ♥️

I don’t know how life will ever be the same. I already miss him so so much 💔 RIP H***H xx

I now have a new van! I’ve gone for bigger and better!
The dogs have adapted to it so quickly and seem to enjoy it! My old van will now be used by Megan. Such exciting times ahead!! 🥰🦮

I am so pleased to introduce you all to Megan!
Megan is my new team member! With demand through the roof for my services I can’t keep up with it on my own. She has been shadowing and training with me for the last 4 weeks and has tonnes of previous experience as a volunteer at a dog rescue centre and has always grown up with dogs.
Megan will be taking on all new dogs and helping me out with my existing dogs for extra walks when I am not available. I can’t wait for you all to meet her! The dogs already LOVE her! 🐶♥️

I know I have been super quiet recently on social media! There’s a lot of exciting things going on behind the scenes!
Although a few weeks ago I got the devastating news that the dog I grew up with had to be put to sleep…Mac was an incredible dog full of life until the very end. The naughtiest dog I’ve ever known! He is one of the main reasons I have such a passion for dogs and without him Dirty Paws wouldn’t be around 🐶
I’m pleased he is now with his best friend Zola ✨🐕‍🦺🦮
