This weekend I have been out to Zebris International CanidGait Conference. It was a fascinating day of lectures from leading Vets in their fields into the latest research of gait analysis. Thank you to all the speakers and all the Zebris team.

This year I went out to meet with Terry and Jane my agents on the ground in Taiwan to meet our new manufacturer for the Fit Fur Life treadmills. It was a very hot humid week but successful and watched the production line of our treadmills at work.

Crufts starts on thursday, come and see us Hall 5 stand 140. this lovely dalmation from Denmark came to try the treadmills last year. He went home with one.

"Grooming tips! 🎀

🐶 Regular brushing is vital to prevent your dog’s coat getting matted. As well as removing dead hair, dirt and dandruff, it also stimulates the natural oils in the skin and fur, which helps make for a glossy, healthy coat.

🐶 It’s also a chance to check for any unusual lumps or bumps, fleas, ticks and give them a general health check, including their teeth, eyes and ears.

🐶 Owners should get their dogs used to being groomed at the earliest opportunity, ideally as a puppy.

🐶 Every breed requires different brushes, so make sure you find the best for your dog.

Dogs don’t get colds in the same way that humans do and they cannot catch the cold virus that causes symptoms in humans.

However, coughs and sneezes are common in dogs and may be caused by many different things. Most dogs will have mild symptoms which pass by themselves in a week or two, without needing treatment, but for some, a cold can be serious.

More serious dog cold symptoms include:
🤒 Coughing or sneezing blood
🤒 Not eating any food
🤒 Not wanting to get up or move around
🤒 Breathing more quickly than normal
🤒 Breathing more heavily than normal

If your dog shows any of these more serious cold symptoms, or their cough goes on for longer than 2-3 weeks, then you should speak to your vet.

Here is a simple, but delicious, winter berry bones recipe that you can make at home.
Ingredients:
🥣 Greek yogurt
🍓 Diced strawberries
🫐 Blueberries
Method:
Scatter some diced strawberries and whole blueberries into a freezer proof mould. We’ve used bone shapes, but any shapes will do.
Spoon the yogurt over the fruit and smooth over with a spoon.
Place the moulds in the freezer overnight.
When it’s treat time, pop one out and give to your dog.

There are lots of things you can do at home to keep your pet’s teeth strong and white, including daily brushing and good-quality food. 🦷

Toy breeds are susceptible to dental problems so it's important to get them used to teeth-brushing from an early age. Start gently once the baby teeth have dropped out and the adult teeth are showing.

It’s important not to use human toothpaste, as it contains fluoride as well as artificial sweeteners like xylitol, which can lead to kidney failure in cats and dogs. We recommend the Emmi-Pet (.de) toothbrush as a safe, quiet and gentle way to keep your dog's teeth in top condition.
