Excellent blog about Muzzle Movement. Muzzles are essential to give a lot of dogs more freedom in their lives whether they are required to wear by law, they struggle a bit with life and reactivity or are the scavengers that constantly pick things up and they are still in training.

I muzzle train my dogs 'just in case' ie they get an injury and a vet needs a muzzle on. Far better to train them to be used to it before something occurs, than another thing they will have to cope with if in pain🐾

I love hearing about and receiving pictures of my students out and about. Kodiak and Kobe met in class but this week met for a play date and had great fun, a good positive socialisation experience for these two young dogs. Reggie the labradoodle practiced his settle whilst his owner got to have lunch and another settle from the very young Winnie the Cocker in a Cafe ❤️ 👏 It is good practice to teach puppies to do nothing!

Big thank you to all of today's clients who let me have a bit of a wobble after finding out my cat had died after being hit by a car. Especially to Samantha Lund who I was with when I found out. A timely reminder to all to check your pets microchip information is up to date as somebody had taken him to the vets and they were able to let us know they had him 😔 🐈 🌈

I quite often get asked re socialisation sessions. I don't run them specifically but anyone who comes to my groups gets taught and given the opportunity for their pets to meet and greet in a safe, constructive way with me watching the body language carefully (my small groups allow me to do this). This video I thought might be useful in what to look out for in such greetings.

These guys have been working together all summer (we had one missing tonight) and have learnt to work around each other and listen to their owners even when they are all running around. I've deliberately left the sound on rather than make it into a reel. ❤️

IMPORTANT NOTICE...don't forget to check your fences/gates before letting your dogs out on windy days. Also be vigilant on walks as they sometimes spook at things blowing around or the noises. Take care 🙂
