One of the most important aspects of regular grooming is preventing severe matting, which can have significant health consequences for dogs. Matting occurs when fur becomes tangled and knotted, which can lead to discomfort, skin irritation, and even restricted blood circulation if left unattended. In severe cases, mats can trap moisture and dirt close to the skin, increasing the risk of infections or infestations by parasites.
