EMMI-PET
ultrasonic teeth cleaning for pets.
This is a safe, noninvasive way to keep your pets oral health in top condition. This can prevent the need for very expensive dental treatment at the vet's. Just look at the results!

£199 for unlimited sessions to get the teeth and gums back to health. ( ideal for nervous dog's as sessions are much shorter and desensitization must go at the dog's pace)

£30 first treatment

£15 maintenance

Pearly wight's tartar control & breath freshener
£25.

Your dog's arousal is controlled by a traffic light system.

Green light is where your dog isn't aroused. They're capable of doing things in a calm and orderly manner.

Amber light is when they're a bit excited and fizzier, and have more pep in their step. But they can still focus on tasks at hand.

Red light is too much. Arousal has taken over, and anything we attempt to do is fruitless. Oh dear.

Here's the uncomfortable truth - every situation where your dog gets too fizzy? Is governed by them going through these lights.\

An example - street walks. Let's break down what happens to begin one.

🟢 You grab your dog's walking equipment and put them on it. You head to the front door.

🟠 You open the door and head outside, your dog begins to pull. They begin sniffing everything everywhere.

🔴 They're pulling becomes more intense, they're desperate to get to the street, you're asking them for things and they're incapable of doing them.

Arousal is not a moment. It is always in stages.

This is all well and good, you may be thinking, but how do we solve this?

I have a little secret for you, and it hinges on one question - which light do you think we want your dog in?

You might have answered green. But you're wrong. It's amber.

Why? Because we can't take the arousal out of the situation, but we can teach our dog to work in the arousal.

Amber is the perfect level of arousal. There's fizz there, of course, but we can still train within that fizz. Your dog loves their street walks - we can't dampen that excitement. But what we can do is take their desire to do something at that moment (pull) and turn it into a different behaviour.

If you're trying to keep your dog in green, you're fighting a losing battle. Instead, we can take their amber feelings and turn them into engagement and connection. A win win, right?

A trainer friend made this and it's 100% accurate. Safty around dog's and canine body language are a big passion of mine.

BIGGEST MYTH OF ALL . . .
Probably the most widely spread myth is that you should put your hand out to let a dog sniff so they know you're a friend.
-
⁉️ WHY IS THAT A MYTH

🧫 Did you know that some dogs have been used to sniff out cancer cells in a petri dish? They can do this because olfaction in dogs is their memory system, their primary sense in dealing with the world.

👃🏼 Dogs have 20 times more scent receptor cells than humans, and the scent-processing section of their brains is larger than ours.

🍔 Where we might say, "Mmm, I smell burgers!" a dog would say, "I smell: fried ground cow muscle; imitation cheese made with vegetable oil; wheat bun; a dozen sesame seeds; one day-old lettuce; partly green tomato; spices in a tomato-based sauce, all touched by the hands of a human!" Dogs smell in minute detail!

🧼 It's safe to say that dogs can smell you before you enter their personal space. You putting your hand up to their nose only lets them smell what you had for lunch & what type of soap you used to wash your hands!

🤜🏼 What a hand in the face of a dog can do is appear threatening. It can sometimes be a good way to get bit if you do it in the "just right" circumstances.

🤔 Dogs that don't appear to care might care once you start to pet them. Likely this indicates a misunderstood body language cue that was not taken into account.
-
⭐️🐕 Read the dog's body language ‼️
❓Is the dog giving signals of wanting to be approached?
❓Is the dog moving toward you?

🤷🏼‍♀️ SO, HOW SHOULD I GREET A DOG?

👉🏼 If the dog wants to be pet she'll start coming toward you.

👉🏼Then the dog might sniff you, then you may pet her, on her side or under her chin.

👉🏼 If she moves away or shifts she may not be comfortable with the greeting. Stop & allow her to move or walk away.

👉🏼 Some dogs just don't care to be greeted by others. This is ok!

Assistance Dog Training & Education Support Network

⛔️ PSA - PLEASE TELL FRIENDS & FAMILY ⛔️

Why do?

Assistance Dog vests often say
“Do Not Distract”?

Distracting, petting, feeding, talking to,
looking at, touching and pointing could put
their handlers life at risk or risk putting
them in a seriously vulnerable situation.

Please ignore assistance dogs unless their handler actively requires
your assistance or otherwise says it is ok to interact with them
and teach your kids/dogs to do the same - CHEERS!
