🪥Dental awareness month 🦷
Part 1. - identifying key signs of dental disease
🦷 Happy dental disease awareness month everyone, here at the village veterinary surgery we strive to provide the up most care for your furry loved one as well as you as an owner. That means helping owners understand what, why and how certain conditions may occur and how to prevent them. So during February we are sharing with you a 4 part video series on dental health, what to look out for, why it happens and how to prevent and treat dental disease.
📖Fun fact- Adult doggies have 10 MORE teeth then a human adult!!! So we definitely need to look after those pearly whites!!!

Enrichment Tuesday 🐟🐱
Happy Tuesday pawsome friends. Today it was enrichment Tuesday in our new cat ward. Our head nurse penny is a true advocate for feline care and one area we have worked hard on is our nursing care within the hospitalised felines.
Cats are grazers and actually love to hunt and work for their for food, as this mimics the cats natural hunting instincts. Now this may be challenging with felines that are hospitalised with us however these amazing likkie mats provide stimuli to the tounge due to the array of textures as well as brain stimuli to figure out how to obtain the yummy food. A good pate food is best and doesn’t add on those calories we are all trying to keep off 😉. Have you ever thought about introducing food games into your furry friends lives? Let us know ⬇️

Little baby hedgehog 🦔. Was found today by a member of public completely flat and not wanting to even curl up. Our amazing nurses acted quickly started to warm her and gave her oxygen therapy. A few hours later we are stable, nice and toasty and eating like a little piglet 🙊. Tonight she will be handed over to one of our lovely clients who rehabilitates hedgehogs 🦔. Happy Thursday everyone 🥰🥰
