Firemouth Cichlid (Thorichthys meeki)

Wow, what a nice surprise to find in one of our tanks!

What we have here is a pair of Firemouth Cichlids that have decided to spawn, and have hatched hundreds of fry.

These fish are a Central American Cichlid. They usually attain a size for 12-15cm, which can be great for many Cichlid keepers.
Although these are a Cichlid, they do not tend to be aggressive.

Hairy Puffer - Pao baileyi 🐡

The hairy puffer can be found in the Mekong river in Thailand and Laos.
These amazing puffers stay relatively small, attaining a maximum size of around 12 - 15cm.
Like many other puffers this can be a rather aggressive species, so this puffer definitely deserves a species only tank to itself.

Our team here at Koi Hut have been lucky enough to find such an amazing animal.
