Hi Everyone, today we have a slightly different adoption from the rescue. This sweet little man was previously rehomed by us but sadly due to no fault of his own has found himself looking for a new home again. Because this little man has had so much upheaval in his life moving around we really want to make sure that whoever adopts him is prepared to care for him for the rest of his days.
The circumstances being what they are, this little mans current owner has agreed to rehome him with his current enclosure and a lot of his supplies to avoid disruption. If he is adopted with his enclosure, we will be waiving any adoption fee for him however there will be a cost associated with his enclosure and supplies of £70 which is an absolute steal for what’s included. We would love for him to be adopted with his enclosure to avoid stress to him however if you have a suitable enclosure of 120x60cm already then this would be considered.
A little about this gorgeous boy…He first arrived at the rescue in March 2023 as part of a big group surrender at 9 weeks old – making him around 16 months old. He’s always been on the shy side and prefers living life on his own terms without too much human interaction. That said, his current owner is able to perform health checks and clip his nails when necessary. He will happily go about his day digging in his sand and soil and making nests in lots of different areas of his enclosure – and of course running at top speed on his wheel. If you are looking for a lower maintenance hamster that you can create gorgeous set ups for without having to commit to daily free roams, this guy could be the hamster for you.
A little about his enclosure…this is a DIY wooden enclosure measuring 120x60x60cm with a hinged lid. The enclosure is in very good condition with the exception of a small area a previous occupant chewed in the back corner. The current owner has been covering this with a tile and this has prevented any further damage. There will be a custom-made large sand bath with the enclosure as well as a couple of DIY platforms that fit the cage well. In addition his enclosure will come with a silent wheel, MCH, 6 other hides, a cork log, 2 small branches and a small dig box. You would need some enrichment of your own like tunnels, branches, dig boxes as well as substrates and sprays however a large portion of the set up would be ready to go – It really is a great value set up.
We would love to find this guy a stable forever home where he can happily live out his days. If you think you could be the person to offer him this we would love to hear from you.
He's currently located in Wokingham – Berkshire.
***Whist hamsters are small in size they are not easy or cheap pets to care for. Please consider carefully if you are able to commit to caring for a hamster for their lifetime (usually 2-3 years) before you make the decision to adopt***
