Horse Owners - I've been thinking about holidays! Who doesn't love a holiday? and it got me thinking who looks after your horses whilst your away which I know can be a big dilemma. If your fortunate enough to have a horsey family or horsey friends that is a huge bonus, but what if you don't?
Would you consider booking an equine company to look after them for you? And what are your main requirements? I've listed some below, please comment on what you would want ?

Wow what a super busy day, 😆🐴 this morning I took Texas trail hunting, only his second time,we hacked to the meet as it wasn't far from the yard. He was absolutely brilliant did some lovely jumps,sky rocketed others 🚀🚀 😁stood quietly when we stopped and quite keen to get going again, very pleased with him a really good experience for him to be out with a group of horses and the hounds. Then this afternoon it was all about the pooches, 3 hours of dog walking 🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺 and then back to the stables to do some assisted liveries. 😴😴

I do hope you all have a good horsey weekend, please comment below and let us know what you have been upto with your horses? This week my usual Tuesday 'horsey' day was riding for clients and in-between riding Texas. His first time jumping a double and a small course a little unbalanced at the last but so pleased with the progress. His canter needs a lot more work to improve and we will continue to incorporate pole work into his training as well as lots of hacking. ❤️

Evening I hope you have all had a brilliant week with your horses and enjoying the beautiful sunny days ☀️☀️🐴🐴 last weekend I had a residential booking and we had a yard clinic with the brilliant Barry Thomas - Better Equine Training who put Tex and me ! through our paces, I'm learning so much about the importance of groundwork,and it's helping to reduce the tension he has, an absolute game changer and looking forward to the next clinic. This week I have been working with regular clients with yard cover, hacking out, in hand work, schooling, In between a 2 day meeting in Cardiff. Remember if you need any help DM the page

For those that have older horses I would be very interested to hear how much work you do with your horses? Tiger is 24 years old now and he is exercised usually 2-3 times a week, I always make sure he has a day off in between, he certainly doesn't feel ready to retire, if tonight is anything to go by, we went for a lovely hack followed by a few little jumps 😁😆but he does sometimes feels a bit stiff going downhills, he has regular physio, wedges in his back shoes and an occasional bute, I have tried various supplements over the years, can anyone recommend a good joint supplement? I want to give him the best possible care in his later years and make sure he is comfortable whilst still in work such a special boy ❤️🐴🥰

Good morning everyone, I hope everyone enjoyed the bank holiday and got some much needed horsey time 🐴 a very very busy 2 weeks for me, with very early starts and late finishes, I have horses on holiday livery, assisted livery and yard cover for some lovely new clients, hacking out for regular clients, all whilst working for DWP and doing my own horses, myself and Texas have been having some groundwork lessons every week which is really improving his confidence and tiger is hacking out to build up his fitness, winter is just around the corner and its getting dark so much earlier, 😭I am fully booked with residential and horsey bookings for most of September but remember if you do need any help please PM the page. Good Luck to all my horsey friends competing at this year's Pembrokeshire County Show, I have very fond memories of competing there over the years with my horses especially in the inter hunt relay team it was just brilliant and scary all at the same time! The show was very much the big event in the calendar, my mum used to spend weeks planning it! , I'm so thankful she got to see me compete last time and watched me fall off right in front of the grand stand, whilst Tiger went for a canter round the ring ! A day to remember for sure! 😆🐴but most importantly we just enjoyed being there. So very best of luck to you all, we are very privileged to own horses and win, lose or draw, the enjoyment and pride and amount of work and effort required to get there is an achievement 🐴🌞🌞🙌🙌

Back to work this week after a fabulous 3 week holiday, which of course had to include horses, first on the list was Hickstead Horse Show 🐴🐴 to watch the famous Derby Class, walking the course was epic, the jumps were absolutely massive and wide and you can't appreciate how big they really are watching it on TV, just amazing 👍 trip home for a couple of days then we ventured upto North Wales/Scotland for an adventure -2000 mile round trip 🚗which included

A wonderful first week, Mandy had to come home for work and I continued on a solo adventure to

Whilst together we did Lots of hiking , eating out in beautiful restaurants, eating in when we were knackered from hiking, the Lochs, stunning beaches, spending precious sister time together making future plans. We loved every minute and will definitely be returning.

Now time to get focused back to what I love most spending time with horses and helping people I do have availability for this week and August for riding / holiday cover 🐴if anyone needs any assistance. Pls DM the page x

I officially finished work on Saturday, since I have started my business I have not had a day off since September from horses, 🐴🐴and whilst I absolutely love it, It's time for a little holiday, so heading off on a road trip with my sister, lots of Adventures to look forward too which we have been planning for months, 😍😍we set off on Sunday to our first destination North Wales 🌞🏔🏖😴😴😴 I have the next 3 weeks off and wil restart from August. A huge thanks to Jane Smith for looking after my horses whilst we are away. Happy Summer Holidays Everyone xx

Who doesn't love a sunny Sunday, 🌞🌞🐴🐴I spend hours and hours at the yard and love every minute 🥰🥰 and today totally focusing on my two horses, Tiger is now 24 and following, physio, x-rays, wedges in his back shoes, we are spending the first couple of weeks just walking round the block and in hand pole work to strengthen him up behind.
Texas - now weather is finally better, I can be more consistent with his work he is much stronger physically this year, he is doing lots or hacking and schooling, A few weeks back I posted about the 'scary' blue barrels and I have been putting them in the school each time I take him in there. Today I decided we were going to jump them ! I've only really done a couple of cross poles in the school with him, I always do a 15 min walk up the road and back before I go in the school and my approach was to walk him up to the barrels and let him have a good look at them before hand. I jumped the cross pole first and then rotted him up to them and he jumped it lovely taking me to the fence, so so pleased with him. I never overdo the jumping each fence a max of 3-4 times and always end on a good note with lots of praise.
