🎄💔 CHRISTMAS ISNT ALWAYS KIND 💔🎄

As Christmas approaches, the Christmas DOGS continue to arrive, in a heartbreaking rise of unwanted animals.

This week we welcomed Baron and Magnum to safety after they had both served their time in a council pound — facing the heartbreaking reality of not seeing the New Year.

It is devastating to know that dogs can lose their lives simply because no one came to claim them. But the truth is, the number of dogs being abandoned and found as strays continues to rise, and the UK stray dog system is stretched far beyond its limits.

Despite this, we will always remain committed to helping as many dogs as we possibly can when their futures hang in the balance. Baron and Magnum are now safe, and will complete their vet work before beginning their journey towards loving homes of their own.

From uncertainty to safety — welcome Baron and Magnum 🤍🐾

💔 Yesterday we had to say goodbye to sweet Teasel the Lurcher 😭

Many of you will remember the heartbreaking state he was in when he first arrived. Despite the neglect he had suffered, he still greeted the world with the gentlest soul. At first, we saw small signs of hope – the swelling in his face began to ease, and for a moment we truly believed we might be able to turn things around for him. 🌿✨

But his lymph nodes remained enlarged, he continued to lose weight and condition, and our vets became increasingly concerned. We made the decision to take a lymph node biopsy… and our fears were confirmed: Teasel had lymphoma. With his welfare already so compromised, we faced the painful reality that treatment would only extend his suffering.

💔 So, with heavy hearts, we made the agonising decision to let him go peacefully.

Euthanasia is something no rescue ever wants to talk about. Our mission is to save lives — but sometimes the kindest, most compassionate thing we can do is to help an animal pass with dignity, warmth, and love, rather than endure pain with no hope of recovery. 🌈🐾

We are truly grateful that Teasel was found when he was. Instead of dying alone in a rural ditch, frightened and in agony, he spent his final days surrounded by care, comfort, and gentle hands. He was loved. He mattered. ❤️

It seems very clear he had been abandoned… but he did not leave this world abandoned. He left it held, cherished, and finally safe.

Run free now, beautiful Teasel. 🌈🐾 You were only with us for a short time, but you touched all our hearts.
