๐ Takeo Update ๐
We apologise for the radio silence regarding our special boy, Takeo, but weโre thrilled to share that he has been thriving in his time of healing and completing his medication.
Today marked a significant milestoneโhis first vet check since being discharged! Weโve been keeping the veterinary team updated on his progress, but seeing them in person today was a heartwarming experience. They are absolutely over the moon about his recovery! Takeo continues to grow and gain weight, his colour has returned to normal, and his breathing and heart rate are stable. He truly looks like a healthy, happy puppy!
Our vets also consulted with experts about Takeo's previous diagnosis of Leptospirosis, and we have a solid plan moving forward. In just two weeks, after he has been medication-free for 14 days, we will look to administer his first vaccination. We are also excited to start finding him a loving forever home in the new year!
๐ Calling All Potential Adopters! ๐
We are now beginning to take initial inquiries for Takeo's forever home. If you believe you can provide the love and commitment he needs, please read the following instructions carefully:
To register your interest, send an email to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) and include the following:
โข Full Name
โข Full Address
โข Telephone Number
โข Detailed information about your home setup, including how itโs arranged, the presence of children (and their ages), and any other pets.
Please note: Takeo is a strong-willed and active pup who requires a dedicated owner willing to invest time in training and socialisation. He is not a first time dog owner type pup!
Important: Takeo will not be able to move to his new home until the new yearโthis is non-negotiable as part of his recovery plan. If there are other dogs in your home, they MUST be fully vaccinated, and proof must be provided during our vet reference stage. This requirement is

๐Takeo Update ๐
We are thrilled to share some fantastic news about our beloved rescue pup, Takeo!
After a challenging period in the hospital, he seems to have turned a significant corner. Just yesterday, he decided it was time to start eating properly, thanks in part to some of June's magic food. June, one of our dedicated volunteers with a wealth of knowledge in nursing poorly pets, has truly worked wonders in encouraging Takeo to eat.
Today, we are seeing even more improvement! Takeo has had his drip removed, which is a huge step forward. While we are still being cautiousโhis respiratory rate isnโt quite where weโd like it to beโthereโs a real sense of hope. If he continues to eat well and maintain his stability without needing fluid therapy, thereโs a possibility he could be discharged in time for the weekend!
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated, sent well wishes, and offered healing thoughts. Your support has made a tremendous difference in Takeo's journey to recovery.
A special shoutout to the incredible team at Fenton Vets for their continuous nursing efforts; your dedication has undoubtedly saved his life.
Weโll keep you updated on Takeoโs progress, and weโre all crossing our fingers for discharge date soon!
Thank you again for all your love and support! ๐พโค๏ธ
Cassie had her day four post op check today and everyone is very pleased, sheโs been pretty much the perfect patient ๐ฅฐ
She is still on restrictive crate rest but you can see she is already walking so much better and is able to place the paw correctly, indicating she has far less pain than before ๐
Thank you to each and every person that donated to Cassies fund, itโs amazing to be able to give a a dog a wonderful pain free life.
Please take a look at Cassies Auction on the Greenacres Rescue Online Auction page, it ends tonight and hoping to raise the final amount to clear her operation costs ๐๐ผ

๐จ Recent Abandonment Alert ๐จ
Watch them run after the car, hoping to go home ๐ญ
On Wednesday, two dogs and two cats were abandoned on a property near Greenacres. Thanks to the quick actions of the compassionate landowners, the dogs were secured, but sadly the cats escaped and are still missing in the Talbenny/Hasguard Cross area. They must be terrified ๐ญ
We debated whether to share this, but we want to shed light on the desperate situation facing the UK animal rescue sector. The pet owner had requested help to rehome their pets, but due to the overwhelming number of requests we receive daily, we were unable to assist. It's important to remember that when you take on an animal, you are legally responsible for their care.
If rehoming becomes your only option, remember that the animal is still your legal responsibility until a suitable alternative is found. This situation could have ended much worse, especially with livestock on the property, not to mention the dangers the dogs & cats potentially had to face.
The landowners have been incredibly kind and supportive, and are working with us to try and locate/catch the cats. As the owner has been identified we are working with the authorities to address this abandonment, and we hope the cats can be located and safely returned. Please think carefully before taking on a pet and ensure you can provide the care and attention they need.
The dogs a Border Collie and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier are both safe with us and we will post their photos sorting with the hope someone can love them โค๏ธ
