Here's wishing all my customers past, present & future a very Happy Christmas.
Thank you for your support & patience throughout 2024, which has been the most challenging year for me health wise, both physically & mentally which meant putting my art on the back burner for a while (sorry to those whose orders got delayed).

Slowly life is getting back to some sort of normality, let's hope next year will be better than the last.

💚 Something's DODGY...

If like me you grew up with the sounds of "Staying Out for the Summer" & "Grass man" bellowing from your speakers then my recent artwork of the amazing Dodgy could be "Good Enough" for you.

I absolutely loved designing this artwork of one of the bands whose music got me through a few tough years. Having reached out to the band, l was lucky enough to end up a guest of theirs at their recent December 2024 gig in Newport, where the band happily signed my original artwork and l was able to present each of them with a limited edition print.

Music is definitely one of the best coping mechanisms when it comes to self help with Mental Health. For me, its especially the music l grew up. First up were a band that l have followed for 30 years, the amazing Shed Seven.
It was great to work on my confidence building whilst producing this artwork and have the tunes of the Sheds blasting out.
It was also great boost to my confidence and a test of my social anxiety when l got to meet the band back at the start of October and get the original artwork signed in, whilst being able to present them all with a copy of the limited prints.
A3 PRINTS ARE £26 EACH including Postage (part of the proceeds are donated to Dementia UK) 🩵🩷

😀 NOTICE... (Life is a little more on track)

As many of you know over the last year or so l have been dealing with a few physical health issues that seemed to come at me thick & fast one after the other. On top of that l have had a horrendous year dealing with my mental health also, l won't lie it's been s**t!!! and just l fely l was getting on top of things, life threw me a curveball about three or four months ago and my head and thoughts took a really dark downward spiral that l am still dealing with.
Every day the horizon changes and the mental goalposts move.
But l have some fantastic support in place and through music and art l am getting to where l need to be 🤣

My health issues have meant that l have been lacking in ability and motivation, and sadly my customer orders went into a backlog. But now with only 4 or 5 Personal Caricatures to complete the pressure is almost off and NEW orders will be taken in the New Year ❤️ (NB: l will be limiting the amount of orders l take next year. They will be extremely low compared to previous years)

Over the last few months l have been building my confidence back up in my own artistic abilities by revisiting my drawing techniques and experimenting with new colours & products.
For this my subject matter was the bands whose music over the years had dragged my head out of those dark places and seen me function normally.
For me those bands have been Counting Crows, Shed Seven, Travis, Dodgy, Matchbox 20 and most recently The Lottery Winners.
As a bonus l have even got to meet a few of the bands and her the originals signed.
It's been great to work on these little vibrant and meaningful projects, that brought me back to a happy place 🤣

Good things come out of bad situations, by producing these prints l have been able to raise some much needed funds for Dementia UK

Polite Notice..an Apology x

As many of you know, l pride myself on the work l produce, and the reputation l have for communicating with my customers throughout their artwork order process.
My reviews speak for themselves 😀
However the last 12 months or more have been horrendous health wise. What started with a little anxiety over a sprained thumb, ended up with a total relapse of my mental health and my PTSD raising it's ugly head and making my every living minute a waking hell.
Then when out clearing my head, it was a little stumble that knackered my knuckle and took bloody ages to heal. Then as l am working thru the back log of orders caused by my health, and getting on really well ( l think l am only 5 orders to complete and l am done) l was hit with a heart scare last week and told to rest.
Then three days later l now have a serious infection in my right hand/wrist. This was the exact same hand they took bloods from last week, hence l feel they are connected. Stuck with a hand/wrist that is swollen to the size of a small water melon has me on forced rest and a course of antibiotics to see how the infection fares.

Sadly this will knock me back even more with my backlog and current customer orders. For this l must apologise and hope that my customers will continue to stick by me as l battle with my ongoing health issues. Your orders are all priority to me and will be with you as soon as l can start to hold a pen/pencil again.

"To Cool for School" 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Here is another order that was completed & collected month's ago that l haven't posted. This commission was placed by the lovely Catrin Davies and other staff from Ysgol Clydau . The order consists of four personal caricatures of for staff leaving the school.
They will all be sadly missed l was told by Catrin as they gave so much time and effort to the children and the school ❤️
The four lucky recipients of a personalised caricature were:
Joy, Kim, Jamean & Cheryl.

"Sol, the Snake Charmer"

I haven't posted for a good while as l have had a rough time health wise over the course of the year. This personalised caricature was completed months ago, l just haven't gotten round to posting it sorry.
Ordered by his mother Heidi aa a surprise gift for his 21st Birthday, the final product features Solomon surrounded by loads of references to his life and character. There is a special nod to him having been ravaged by a snake (which made it into the newspapers).

Sol can be seen in the photos being presented with his artwork. More happy customers 😁

"Happy Bah, Bah Birthday"

Here is an order I forgot to post from a few months ago. Ordered by a customer l know only as Bah Bah, this personalised caricature was ordered as a 40th Birthday gift for her hockey mad partner Martyn.

The final artwork depicts Martyn in his Hockey kit along with his motorbike in the background. As requested Bah Bah is featured in a Welsh jersey and bucket hat. Also featured is a sentimental heart tattoo. There is also a few references to their lives and characters scattered around 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Here's another caricature completed from my backlog, this time return customer Natasha Viggers requested this artwork as a gift for her stepdaughter Beth and her fiancé Nik.
They both currently work for Exeter Ambulance Service and are due to get married next March.
Nik is a big gamer, whilst Beth enjoys scuba diving & pole dancing.

"The Moto Man"

This family themed caricature was a commission placed by Jordan Marie Reynolds for her petrol head partner Liam.

Jordan requested that the family of four (Liam, Jordan and kids, Travis & Finley) be featured along with the family dog and references to her partner's business 'Pembsmoto Services' and the Nurburgring in Germany, along with his beloved BMW.

Jordan loved the final artwork, heres hoping Liam loved it too 🏁🚩

"The Mountain Man"

This detailed filled caricature was ordered by return customer Carly Jane Hallett, as a 30th Birthday gift for her partner Andrew.

The artwork depicts boyfriend Andrew dressed in his usual attire of cap, t-shirt & shorts (he's actually dressed as Carly requested).
There are references to his beloved Chelsea FC, football and his love for climbing/walking the fantastic Welsh mountains and his favorite reads.
These even a little nod to the VW camper that Andrew really likes thrown in as requested

Carly was nice enough to send me a photo of the Birthday Boy receiving the finished product.

Huws That Coming Over The Hill.

This farm themed Caricature is another one scratched off my little backlog.

This time it was return customer Linda Adamson who placed an order for a personalised caricature as a 90th Birthday gift for her uncle Hugh (known to many as Huw,).
The finished product depicts Hue wearing his flat cap and driving his beloved tractor & plough, with Newport Bay in the background.
There are also a few little references to his life and hobbies scattered around.

"Happy 18th Siôn"

This caricature crammed full of detail was ordered by Nerys Edwards as a totally original 18th Birthday gift.

The personalised caricature sees the birthday boy dressed in his St. Peters YFC Tug of War Team top and work trousers with his pet terrier Twts at his side.
In the background you can see both his New Holland tractor and Gehl Skid Steer, along with one of his beloved jersey cows. There are a few other little references thrown in such as reading material, Peroni beer and the requested farm names.

Nerys feedback that her son Siôn absolutely loved his personalised birthday gift and she even sent me a photo of him with the artwork.

Another one off the backlog!

The lovely Rebekah Wilson asked me to produce an artwork that was to be personalised for her partner Lee.
The caricature itself features the fun loving couple dressed in their respective uniforms and surrounded by references to their lives.
Rebekah asked me to feature Lee's beloved triathlon bike, a nod to the Ironman events with a fire engine in the background. She also asked me to reference their recent holidays to New York, Lanzarote and the Egyptian pyramids.

Two very happy customers and Becky even sent me a photo of the finished artwork after she had it framed 😍

"Posh Frocks & Wellington Socks"

This equestrian themed Caricature was a commission placed by the lovely Cerys Carrol-Jones and features the lucky recipient dressed in the dress requested by Cerys along with her beloved horse in the background.

There are other equestrian references throughout along with references to her career, hobbies, family and favorite places.

Well after a rather horrendous year on the health front that's the last caricature completed and added to the order pile for Christmas 2022.(especially when l have also been dealing with a sprained thumb over the last three weeks) 😢 Most of you will know l had a bit of a blip with my own mental health recently which made me have to revaluate the hours l was allocating to my artwork orders over and above the increasing stress of my day job. In the end and on medical advice it was agreed that drawing into the early hours and running on around 2-3 hours sleep a day was having a serious effect on my health, this in turn wasn't helping my mental health and l was struggling and had to slow down. I hid it well, but in the end l couldn't cope and had to explain to customers l was falling behind as l couldn't concentrate etc. Since then l have been lucky enough to have some really understanding customers who have been happy to move their artwork into January and February 2023. For this and your understanding l am truly grateful, thank you. It saddens me to have not been able to produce all orders in time for Christmas this year as l'm not in the habit of letting my customers down sorry. I look forward to meeting some customers today and tomorrow when they collect their orders l did manage to complete and l look forward to seeing the rest of you early 2023.
