What is changing lives through horses ?

Using horses as the inspiration for change, the programme provides an alternative and complementary learning environment to mainstream education. The skills developed through the programme meet the requirements of ongoing education and training, employers and participants.

The programme works to develop six key life skills through equestrian activity:
Communication
Confidence
Building relationships
Teamwork
Responsibility
Perseverance

Everyone meet Ruby and the lovely Blackjack .
Ruby is excelling on the CLTH programme we love seeing her grow in confidence weekly .

Here is what Rubys mum has to say about her progress -

Ruby finds social interactions with others very difficult and finds it hard to just be herself and to communicate with others. Since coming to changing lives, Ruby has found her safe space and can be herself around others.
All the staff are amazing and understanding towards her and her needs. Ruby is learning new skills and is happy and all ways looks forward to her sessions. she has made friends something that has been very hard for her to do with in mainstream school.

If you would like to find out more about the programme please contact us we are now taking enrollments for September.

🌟Group Lessons 🌟

Why join group lessons instead of private lessons ?

We believe group instruction is a better teaching pattern for most people (and horses). Because the instructor’s focus moves from student to student, rather than resting on one person for the entire ride. This provides smaller information bites which are more easily absorbed. Plus not having the instructor focus on them relentlessly allows the student the opportunity to make adjustments and corrections themselves. And even though the pressure is off for a short time period, the instructor is still aware of what is happening with her student.

The social side
Group riding lessons are a great way to feed the social needs of any horse lover. Even adults look forward to riding together.
We know over our 62 years of operating that riders have made life long friends from riding in the group lessons.

The Visual Learning Tool
For some people, riding snaps into place much faster when they can see what they are trying to achieve. Group riding lessons provide the horses and riders taking the group lesson with Live demos .

The visual tool works at all levels, over and over again. The bonus is that when they see that one of their peers can achieve something, they know they can too.

The Challenge
In the same sense that group riding lessons give students confidence, group lessons also add the challenge factor. When peers ride together and they see one another achieve, that nudge to do it better seems to find its way in.

Cost
Regular Group lessons are our most cost effective lesson.

Brilliant day at Pony club Blue Cross horse and pony care competition. We took 3 teams all of which placed in the top half of a huge number of teams. We came home with a 3rd , 10th and 14th placing .

Everyone looked so smart and worked hard on all the sections.

Our 3rd placing means Team A have qualified for the national championships held in August.

Thank you to for Hosting and Katy Deithrick for organising a brilliant event !

Thank you to parents who drove everyone up .
