Do I have 121 for heelwork and it’s fixed? 🏆
No!
Do I come to one set of puppy classes and my dog is trained? 🤩
No!
Dog training is every day, it’s consistency, it’s boundaries, it’s trying EVERY SINGLE DAY!
121s or classes give you the information you need to go home and put that into practice into your walks or your training sessions 🐾
Sometimes it hard work, sometimes it’s tedious, sometimes you feel like you’re fighting a loosing battle but keep showing up to your commitment every day and you will succeed 💪🏻
Olympic show jumpers don’t jump one jump and then head off to the Olympics.
Andy Murray didn’t hit one tennis ball and become a World Ranking tennis player.
Kids don’t go to school once and learn everything they need for their GCSE’s
Training a dog is like building a Lego set….you’ve got the picture of what you need to build, and every block is a step in the right direction 😍

Happy New Year All 🎉🍾

If you all do 1 thing for me this year, it would make me very happy!
Don’t forget to have fun and enjoy your dogs 🤪🐾
People get so het up about training and they must teach their dog this and they must teach their dog that.
You put pressure on yourself and therefore your dog and in the end neither of you enjoy the journey.
Have fun, be silly, play with your dog, build a solid, fun, respectable bond with your dog; then the training falls into place a lot easier. If your dog WANTS to be with you because you are their world, the dog will want to learn and want to please.
So, go have fun in 2025! 💪🏻
(And if you want, teach your dog to find your slippers….its very handy)

A couple of weeks ago we held 2 fantastic workshops

A shot workshop working on directionals, memories and blinds with shot 💥
Followed by a hunting workshop; getting dogs to use their natural instincts along with the wind to hunt properly before putting patterns in. Teaching handlers not to micro manage spaniels and encouraging dogs to stop watching handlers so much 🐕

🚨 Grass Seed Season 🚨

I have already seen a few posts of unfortunate vet trips with grass seeds 😞
These egit things can be lethal, seemingly such an innocent thing can end up causing so much trouble and costing you so much money at the vets.
It is now prime time for grass seeds as they cut the verges on the side of the road. What you probably don't realise is they have small barbs at the end of them, which once latched to the skin, worm their way through, into the blood stream and then travel around their body until they lodge somewhere and then cause a huge infection 🚑
It is mainly prone to hairy-er dogs, however no dog is completely safe.
If you have a dog with long, curly or thick hair, try and keep toes as neat as possible and check your dogs after every walk! The main areas for grass seeds are toes, ears and armpits but they could get them stuck anywhere. If you notice your dog licking its paws a lot and big red lump appearing, its likely a grass seed; if they are shaking their head a lot, it's likely a grass seed.
Please check your dogs as thoroughly as you can after every walk, it really could save you a huge vet bill!! 💸👋

If you answered ‘yes’ then this is the course for you 💪🏻
Come and learn about your dogs natural instincts, what they are bred to do and learn fun ways to do it with them, so they want to be with you and not off enjoying their own fun!
Harness those instincts and learn to work with them, not against them. Enjoy watching them use their nose and what they are bred to do 😍

You do not have to work your dogs, or have any inclination to do so; it is breed specific training to help you understand why your dogs do what they do on a walk and build your bond by working as a team 🤩
