Annie’s bone yard!! Annie was very excited to find some bones this morning (from a deer) and quickly found a good hiding place for them. I’ve made a solemn promise not to disclose the location! 🤫

I went on a refresher canine first aid course at the weekend. I was pleased to see that I'd pretty much remembered everythng from the last course (apart from the symptoms of lungworm!) Hopefully I won't need to use it and all my lovely doggies will stay healthy and accident free!

Marlow the Vizsla joined me for a couple of walks this week, while his regular walker was away. He got on so well with Autumn, but even so she wasn't sharing her stick with him! 😂

Harvey loves retrieving. We played a lovely game of fetch the stick last week. I threw the stick in the water and Harvey would jump in and fetch it. This game satisfies his love of fetching and swimming at the same time without putting a big strain on his joints. He'd do this all day if I let him!

Please excuse the thumb at the end of this video! I thought this was a good video apart from that! Benji and Maisie get on really well and play together quite a lot. This video demonstrates some rough play that can sometimes be misinterpreted as aggressive behaviour. Benji is mouthing Maisie's neck, but then he stops and gives her a turn to jump on him (this happens twice). They are both wagging their tails and Maisie is not trying to get away from him. This type of play should always be very carefully supervised however, and brought to an end if either dog is getting over excited. Also not all dogs enjoy this type of play, so it is only ok with dogs who are familiar with each other and both want to play.

Solo walk with Harvey this morning at Ditchling Common. After a tiring game of fetch the ball, Harvey decided to have a swim in the lake. He loves the water!
