The Background
The Tartan Paw is a small business based in D

erbyshire, England. Personally, I have never been without a dog and growing up I have been able to experience the love and bond with a number of breeds from Labradors to Beagles, Old English Sheepdogs to Scottish Terriers which is where I got a little bit hooked. I am now the proud companion of multiple Scottish Terriers, we train hard, play hard and compete in multiple disciplines. You are never finished growing with your dog, they love a challenge. In my former years I have worked as a groomer and qualified in microchipping, while I have also studied in Canine Behaviour and Canine Massage Therapy. Dogs love to be with us and working the bond is just as important and meaningful to them as it is us. However you choose to grow that relationship I am here to give you the tools and confidence you both need to succeed. Shop and Custom Creations! The Tartan Paw is here to support dog and handler from puppy to veteran, in life, training and even competition, I am here to help strengthen the bond between dog and handler by being right alongside you every step of the way. If you require training aids, Natural Treats or accessories just get in touch, it’s why I’m here! Training and Support! I offer 1to1 tailored training and group classes to support you and your dog in your journey, I use positive techniques for goal based training. Sessions can be held as full days or weekly appointments or just as and when, which ever works best for both of you. All of the training is a positive experience for you both based around rewards and enjoying your time together. You can request specific training requirements or behaviours to focus on and I will ensure you as a handler have all the relevant tools and knowledge to progress, including realistic goals and how to achieve them. The Dog Bakery! The Scott Pack and I have been working hard on expanding to include a Dog Bakery! I’m baking they’re tasting hahaha! If we are all going to work this hard there should be a fabulous reward at the end! All products are home-baked with all natural ingredients. Some of the products are wheat and gluten free and some aren’t, there is something for everyone. There are also lots of choices available for Birthday and Gotcha Day packages! Vital information here from PDSA around the dangers of antifreeze ❄️

Please note ethylene glycol, is also inside snowglobes so be very careful if you have one break/leak 🐾

Antifreeze spills and leaky engines are a lethal threat to our pets. Ethylene glycol, the main ingredient in antifreeze, is extremely toxic. Unfortunately, it is naturally sweet, which is why pets are tempted to drink it. As the weather continues to drop colder, please be extremely cautious of spills and leaks ❄️

Ethylene glycol is also found in car screen wash, brake fluid, radiator fluid and some garden water features. Even small amounts, if swallowed, is deadly as it causes permanent damage to the kidneys.

Symptoms of antifreeze poisoning in dogs and cats:
- Wobbliness and weakness
- Vomiting
- Low energy (lethargy)
- Drinking and weeing more to begin, and then less than normal
- Difficulty breathing or fast breathing
- Seizures (fits)
- Collapse

Sadly, antifreeze poisoning is usually fatal unless it’s treated extremely quickly. Call your vet immediately if you think your pet has come into contact with antifreeze - don't wait for symptoms to appear!⚠️

I am so incredibly proud of this little girl 😍 she found class environments quite scary but really came out of her shell during her recent Detection Dog Super Sniffers course.

Since then she has excelled in so many areas and her Mums hard work is paying off.

WOW! After learning the 123 game in his first puppy class Luffy has been practicing hard. Here he is using the game for recall and checking in with Mum on walks 🩵 just look at that headsnap when he hears 1👍

If someone asked your dog what they did on their walk the answer should involve WE not just I. Like I found a squirrel, I chased a bird etc.

You want the answer to be WE played a game, WE went for a walk, WE sat and watched the world go by 🐾

Well done Luffy and Mum great work 👏
