Ponderosa Zoo Open Monday, Friday and weekends. We have multiple outdoor play areas and a Lakeside restaurant. Hot meals can be purchased from the Lakeside Restaurant.

Based in West Yorkshire and home to over 100 animals, Ponderosa Zoo offers a great day out for animal lovers!

Our new arrivals are Southern Lesser Galagos!

Did you know these incredible little creatures are part of the primate family? They use their huge eyes, powerful hands, and long tails to leap swiftly through the trees under the cover of night!

If you’ve visited us recently, you may have noticed some exciting updates happening in our Nocturnal House.

Well, the wait is over — our newest residents arrived just a couple of days ago! Can you guess what species they are?

Here are a few clues:
🐾 They’re nocturnal
🐾 They have very big eyes
🐾 They have a very long tail
🐾 and they like to leap!

✨What's on this half term?✨
🎃 Indoor play room open daily from the 27th October to the 2nd November with games, toys and a craft corner. Located in our small restaurant. Our indoor play is suitable for up to age 5 and our games are suitable for all ages! (£2 additional cost)
👻 We have a very special character coming to visit us on the 30th of October 11am - 11:30am! Come and meet Halloween Stitch at Ponderosa Zoo!
🎃 Our Lakeside Restaurant is open all week for food and drink, along with our coffee shop.
👻 Animal talks are on daily - Scottish wildcats at 11am, Asian short clawed otters at 12pm and serval at 1pm - come and see some of our most elusive animals be fed by a zookeeper!
🎃 The lemur walkthrough will be open daily 11am - 12pm and 1:30pm - 2:30pm
✨We are open 10am - 4pm daily!✨

Unfortunately due to the high winds forecast, our air bouncers will not be on today and our lemur walkthrough will be closed.

Customer and animal welfare are our top priorities at Ponderosa Zoo and we want to ensure that everyone is safe when visiting us.

The rest of our activities will be on as normal:

Spiders hold a bad reputation for their appearance and behaviours. Although these critters are deemed as ‘creepy’, spiders are very important to have around. Our eight legged friends prey on a large variety of insects, even ones that pester humans and, in some cases, spread disease. Spiders help to keep the populations of these insects down and also slow down the spread of some diseases! 👻 🎃
