I got my first cat, an Oriental called Oedipus, in 1992 while living in Sweden. When I returned to the UK, he came with me despite having to spend 6 months in quarantine. From that point on, I have never been without a cat. Elektra, a seal point Siamese became Oedi's companion in 1995 and she was followed in 2010 by my current cat, Ziggy, a handsome half-Siamese tuxedo. He has all the Siamese char

acter and personality but his tom-cat father's voice and colouring. Having Oriental / Siamese - even half-breeds - is both entertaining and challenging and they make looking after less highly-strung cats seem like child's play!! Cuddles, belly rubs and long play sessions are a speciality. I have several clients who need regular medication and am confident giving injections.

UPDATE
Sadly Islay has been found. Thank you to everyone who shared and came through with possible sightings.

Islay has been missing from her home in Diana Vernon Court, Craigendoran (by the County Hotel rail bridge). She’s around a year old, spayed and microchipped. Last seen Wednesday 27 April and not like her as she tends to stay close to home and never stays out overnight. She was wearing a reflective pink collar.

Please keep an eye out for her and check any sheds and outhouses. Her twin brother and family are very worried and are missing her.

Thank you

Did you know today is World Sleep Day?

We all know that cats are champions at sleep, sometimes in the most bizarre and uncomfortable positions. How and where do your kittens doze off in between zoomies?

A slightly different day yesterday with a last-minute Lily walk before she heads south on her holidays. We went to Bowling for a change: she had never been and I had no idea there was a sandy beach there!

Still not a dog walker😂😼

***Buster Update***

A huge thank you to everyone who shared Buster’s story last week. I emailed CP Glasgow last night as his profile had disappeared from their website and have just received this reply. Best. News. Ever for Buster. His family are delighted to and would like too add their thanks to mine.

I love a happy ending🥰

I’ve been asked to help find a home for Buster who has been left homeless due his Dad passing away and his Mum having to go into a care home. Unfortunately the family can’t take him and have reluctantly had to hand him over to Cats Protection Glasgow.

Buster is around five years old and was taken in as stray. I haven’t met him but the family say he’s very affectionate and loves cuddles as you can see from the photos. He needs to be able to go out but probably best as an only cat and no dogs. I’ve included screenshots from his CP page.

If you can help or know of anyone who would be interested in adopting him please contact the centre, but do let me know as it would be wonderful to know that he has a happy forever home and to be able to let his Mum know too.

Walter Kitty and Ziggy haven’t worked out yet that they’re supposed to sit in the case to stop me leaving, not when I’m unpacking after being away😂

Normal service has now been resumed and a huge thank you to Callum for standing in for me and doing such a good job last week😘

And to Auntie Helen Anderson Mill and Uncle Bruce for taking such good care of my boys and for winning Ziggy round after ten years!

Poor Lily. All she wanted to do yesterday was gift her Siberian forest cat siblings a peaceful Caturday afternoon while she joined her Bothy friends on a photo walk.

Instead she was accused of breaking a headstone and failed her audition for the lead role in the Greyfriar’s Bobby remake: too big, too floofy and just wrong in every way😥. They didn’t say that to Lassie!! Oh well, at least the church was impressive

26 years serving Oriental cats!

He has all the Siamese character and personality but his tom-cat father's voice and colouring. Having Oriental / Siamese - even half-breeds - is both entertaining and challenging and they make looking after less highly-strung cats seem like child's play!! Since having cats of my own (and a collie for the last 14 years), I have looked after friends' cats, both pedigree and moggy. For the past three years I regularly looked after a mother and daughter pair, both of whom required medication twice daily, something the mother was not keen on without a lot of patient coaxing and bribery. Sadly both went over the rainbow bridge within months of each other. Cuddles, belly rubs and long sessions with Da Bird are a speciality! I am a self-employed artisan jeweller so have plenty of time to spend with your cats ensuring that they are well looked after and have lots of fuss, cuddles and play time.
