Received a message at 5:30pm about a uncomfortable horse due to milking the cows I went straight from the farm to get to the horses yard at 7:10pm!

After finding the problem we managed to release the muscle with hand work and help with the ultrasound to leave the horse much more comfortable and ready for his dressage class tomorrow!

With horses and ponies constantly changing shape Lèthwrek Equine Sports Therapy and Garlidna Farm XC Course called in NB Saddlers- Master Saddler and Qualified Saddle Fitter for a full day of fittings!

This will be held on the 19th November 2024 and we fill up quickly!

Price is £80 a session with a £15 non refundable deposit, bookings will be cancelled and given to someone else if deposit not paid in 24 hours.

How often should a horse receive bodywork and massage?

This depends on the workload of the horse, his/her conformation, health history, footing, tack fit and extent of injuries (if any).

most working horses are treated monthly or 6 weekly to maintain a healthy muscoskeletal system however some horses in light work or convalesing may benefit from only 4 prehab & maintenance treatments per year.

A very busy few months finishing off with Prince, Freddie and Mick.

I just wanted to thank, all my amazing clients for trusting me to treat your wonderful horses and getting to know you too. I really do love what I do!

Very hot day today!! 6 lovely horses treated to an equine sports massage 💆‍♀️

While it’s so hot here, here are some top tips for keeping your horses cool 🧊

Apple bobbing 🍎
By putting apples into your horses water, not only does it encourage them to drink more and stay hydrated, but also provides them with a fun game!

Soaking fly rugs 🪰
By wetting fheir fly rugs the horse will further improve its cooling properties and hold the moisture for longer, so hosing the rug down while it is on the horse multiple times a day is worthwhile in the hottest temperature.

Ice lollies 🧊
Why not treat your horse to some home made ice lollies? Simply put your horses favourite fruit and vegetables in a tub of water, (maybe add a splash of apple juice!) into the freezer and in a few hours your horse will love their frozen treat!

Before and after equine sports massage! This horse is treated once a month due to his busy work routine Eventing, jumping and other fun things. With all this wear and tear it really puts a strain on the muscles, thank fully his owner books him in offer to keep him feeling relaxed and comfortable 🤩 Have you booked your equine partner in yet?

Maintenance massage for the awesome Quin this week! Quin and Clare have been out doing a lot of awesome things over the past few weeks so to keep him preforming to his best a maintenance massage is required, he also took a little tumble on his bum at his last event so a massage to make everything was loose and relaxed ready for another fun filled weekend! Big thank you to Dan for recording and producing this awesome video ☺️
