We have sadly been handed a deceased black and white, male neutered cat. Unfortunately the microchip is not registered so we can not locate the owner. He was found near the Lion and Lamb pub at Ashton. Please contact the practice if you believe he could be yours.

🐕PUPPY SOCIALISATION CLASSES🐕

🐶Our puppy classes provide a safe,controlled environment for your puppy to socialise with other puppies.

🗒️Puppies can join 1 week after their 1st vaccination.

🗓️4 week course:
1️⃣ Head-to-Toe Checks, socialisation, training.
2️⃣ Nutrition and exercise, dental hygiene, training.
3️⃣ Common poisons, First Aid, grooming and bathing.
4️⃣ Flea and worm advice, Neutering advice, training.
🕓Run Tuesdays 12:45-1:45

🛍️Each week a complimentary puppy pack will be given out to take home.

As temperatures drop, it’s time to make sure your pup stays snug and safe! 🧥 Here are a few simple tips:

✨ Invest in a cosy, well-fitting coat to help them stay warm
✨ Check their paws for ice, snow, or salt - and consider protective boots for extra protection for sensitive paws
✨ Create warm indoor spots for them to relax (don’t be offended if they opt for the floor!)

We require 48 hours notice for prescription requests and 7 working days for schedule 2 and 3 prescription requests.

Last request dates are as follows:

🎄 Flea and Worming medications by 5pm on Friday 20th December

🎄 Regular prescription medications by 5pm on Friday 20th December

🎄 Schedule 2 and 3 medications (controlled drugs or ‘safe items’) by 5pm on Monday 16th December

🎄 Written prescription requests by 5pm on 20th December (please check with your Pharmacist, their Christmas period dispensing times)

Today, Becks, our Student Vet Nurse visited the children of Primrose class at Coverack Primary School.

The children had recently been introduced to their class pet, and Becks talked with them about how to keep their pets happy and healthy.

She was very impressed with how much the children knew and their keenness and enthusiasm!
There are definitely some budding vets and vet nurses amongst the group!

With the weather turning colder, it’s a great time to think about how we can keep our feline friends warm, cosy and most of all safe during winter months.

😸 Using an old wooden box or spare cat carrier with blankets can provide an outdoor shelter area from the elements.

😸 A soft bed indoors can help your cat dry off and warm up when they do decide to grace you with their presence.

😸 Check sheds and outhouses before locking for the evening, to ensure no cats get trapped inside.

😸 During frosty periods, check your car engine to ensure a purry guest hasn’t hidden themselves inside.

😸 Extra food and water can ensure your cat keeps their energy levels up and therefore help them to keep their body temperature up!

😸 Be mindful of hazards such as antifreeze and chemical melting - the ingredients are toxic to cats.

Lest We Forget.

⚠️ As you know we have been in consultation with team members about the future of the practice, and we are pleased to inform you that small animal services will continue at Head & Head Vets.

We remain in consultation with the team and will update you on the whole practice once the consultation period is complete in a couple of weeks’ time.

Our opening hours may change slightly over the coming weeks, but we will, of course, keep you fully informed via our social media pages.

You may have seen posts on other pages or heard speculation about the future of Head & Head Veterinary Practice, and we would like to provide an update so you, our valued clients, are fully aware of what is happening.

The practice has been struggling financially for the past two years but we are working with our dedicated, hard-working team members on ways to safeguard our future.

We value the support of all of our wonderful clients whilst we work through options for the practice. The care of patients is unaffected, with both routine consultations and emergency care provision continuing as normal.

We will update you again at the earliest opportunity, but in the meantime thank you for the many well wishes we have received.
