The severity of the anticipated milk price reductions for December has been confirmed by recent announcements, leading to escalating financial concerns across the dairy farming community.

Key Price Movements
The latest round of cuts shows significant adjustments:

- First Milk has imposed the largest cut, reducing its manufacturing litre price by 6 pence to 35.85 pence.

- Leprino is also implementing a substantial 5 pence reduction, lowering its manufacturing price to 33 pence.

- Arla announced a cut of 2.63 pence. This drop was less severe than market expectations and keeps its standard litre and manufacturing price maintained above 40 pence.

- Muller made a moderate 1.5 pence adjustment, keeping its A price at 40 pence. Crucially, the B litre price is anticipated to fall to 26-27 pence, affecting 12% of the contracted milk volume.

Wynnstay was founded in 1918 by tenant farmers of the local Wynnstay estate and was formally constituted as a farmers' co operative shortly afterwards. Over the succeeding decades, the organisation steadily grew.

Through a series of mergers, acquisitive growth and conversion to a Plc, the business has developed into a major supplier of products and services, across many parts of the UK, to the evolving agricultural industry and the rural economy. The business is further strengthened by a number of complementary joint ventures and associate companies.
