Look at this chunky girl! She popped out to steal some of Mum's food π
Phil at his vet appointment.
Was hoping to post an update tonight on Phil but still waiting to hear back from our vet.
We took him to see our vet on Friday who is contacting other vets, rehabbers etc to see what sort of treatment will best help his symptoms as heβs still wobbly on his legs and likes to do circles.
Weβre hopeful that we can come up with a plan to help him even more.
Heβs made such a massive improvement already so Iβm proud of him either way. Heβs likely going to never be released fully but weβre aiming to get him to the point where he can go in an enclosed garden or similar.
Hereβs a little video of him at the vets. π₯°
Phil says hello π₯°β€οΈ
He was 270g when he came to us... heβs now 570g. π Think Mushroom is clearly feeling better.
Gerald
Good morning, guys.
Gerald is still fighting his little socks off. He's had his breakfast and morning fluids which has perked him up a little more so fingers crossed we keep going up from here!
I've had about 4 hours sleep as he's been in my bedroom so I've been watching the cage like a hawk in case he came out for food or water through the night π
I'm thinking of launching a GoFundMe or Facebook Fundraiser for something really important for the rescue... Incubators! Gerald has been on a heatpad through the night but if we had incubators it would keep him at a constant, safe temperature. These are lifesaving for hedgehogs like Gerald and will also be lifesaving for any babies we have come through our rescue in the future. These incubators aren't cheap but if it means we can offer better care then they'd be completely worth it.
So, I may get that set up today in the hope that our amazing supporters can help with getting those in to the rescue β€οΈ
For now, here's a video of Gerald making a mess of his breakfast!
