Meet Maggie, Beta Dogs “dog of the week”.

Maggie’s owner contacted us following a recommendation from a friend.
Maggie’s behaviour at home was verging on extreme, with excessive barking whenever anyone came to the door. She is halfway through her Beta Dogs journey & now sits nicely when delivery drivers come to the home.
In addition she was recently out with her owner when five dogs, all off lead approached her (she was on lead), & rather than become stressed, anxious or aggressive, she sat beautifully focusing on her owner. Huge progress!

We’ve just finished working with this handsome boy….

His owners got in touch as he was showing signs of aggression towards people, both in the home and out & about.

Our trainers met him at home and his behaviour was very concerning towards them and he had to be shut away whilst they carried out the initial assessment.

These pictures are him today, at home, totally relaxed & confident.

His owners have put in some really good hard work, working with us over a number of weeks to get to this stage.

This experienced client came to us after getting their first border collie, wanting advice on how best to train their pup as they recognised every breed is different.
Here they are practising heal walking, look how she regularly “checks in” with her owner & how engaged he is with her.
Walking our pups is the best way to bond with them.

Meet our latest Beta Dogs clients…. Ray, Oakley & Yogi…

Just like these three, every dog is different & every dog can have different behaviours that needs addressing.
Behaviours that need work can be anything, but can include general puppy behaviour, excessive barking, aggression or anxiety.

Every client that works with us receives their own bespoke report with our recommendations and works with us for a period of 6-8 weeks. All training is 1-1 and carried out in their own environment and neighbourhood.

This is Indy; she’s a German Shorthaired Pointer and is now 6 months old.
Indy’s owners recognised she would grow into a big dog & as such wanted to start her training as soon as possible.
Indy has learnt excellent impulse control, walks beautifully to heal off leash & has excellent recall.

Monty is a 2 year old Shepherd mix, rescued from Romania.
His owners Mark & Louise got in touch when he started to exhibit aggression towards other dogs and some people.
Beta Dogs have been working with them for around a month. Today Monty spent all of his session today off leash, in the woods, happily & politely socialising with lots of other dogs (3 at once at one stage) and barely registered the three different joggers who passed him.
His progress is awesome, & his owners continue to work hard with him to ensure he is having his most enriched, fun life…

When you & your last client (thankfully) of the day get caught in a heavy shower!!!

Our dogs need exercise for enrichment whatever the weather.

It’s already a glorious day out there, already low 20’s

The below is really great advice, but the some things to remember are:
>If you can’t hold your hand on the pavement your dog can’t stand on it

>No dog ever died from not having a walk

>Astroturf gets significantly hotter than grass
