We have some mesmerising macleays stick insects in store at the moment.
This is one of the larger species of stick insects that has been known to reach an adult size of 150mm. The females reach this size, but on average they reach 130mm. The females are wingless only having small buds, where as the males are fully winged and able to fly. The males are smaller than the females averaging 90 - 100mm. Both sexes can range from light to medium brown, or a greenish colour. The females have lots of sharp spikes all over the body, but the males seem to be rather smooth. The legs are lobed and these too have small projections of spikes present.

Slightly disgusted that in this day and age people find it appropriate to dump animals at a pet shop!

After explaining to a lady we have no space but hopefully should be OK to take her early next week, she felt it acceptable to leave the filthy carrier and rabbit on the counter and run! She was coated in urine and poo and the food in with her was inedible, needless to say she had no water in this heat too.

We have the ladies name and address but quite frankly do not want her to have the rabbit back. But if anyone knows Lou from hemel who had a rabbit, Please can you express the disappointment we feel on how this rabbit has been treated.
She will be well cared for and looked after until we find a forever home.
But feel this is too sad not to share

Although the weather has cooled off slightly... please ensure your animals still have access to plenty of clean drinking water. Our finches are making the most of their daily baths

Although animals are still OK to leave store today, with temperatures looking to reach 30 degrees tomorrow it is likely all animal sales will stop at 11am. We will keep you updated in due course

However any animals can be reserved (with full payment) to be picked up Sunday

This may not be ideal for customers, however our animals welfare and safety is our main priority

These are just a few of the reasons all of our rabbits now leave in pairs or to be paired with an existing rabbit

Our finches are enjoying tucking into their forage box today... a mix of greens, millet and coco soil. This makes great enrichment for your feathered friend and keeps both their body and mind active
