Last week we said goodbye to a member of the Mucky Pups family. Lexi was one of the first dogs to join when I started up nearly a year and a half ago. She was also my most regular dog, on walks twice a day, so she became very close to my heart and was loved by many members of the gang. She’ll be incredibly missed. Sending so much love to her family 💔. Sweet dreams Lexi 🌹

With the warmer weather, I’ve altered my walking hours to fit around the rising temperatures. Walking earlier morning or late evening.

As a general rule of thumb anything below 20° is considered safe and anything above 25° is an absolute no. Even at 20° dogs over 8, obese, very young dogs or those with breathing difficulties can suffer with heat stroke, which is life threatening. Even at 21° it can feel like 25°+. Imagine walking around in a fur coat and bare foot 🥵

At Mucky Pups Henfield, I want to ensure dogs health and safety is always put first and I don’t walk dogs over about 21°. Alternatively I offer earlier/later walks or drop ins.

Mucky Pups Henfield is 1 ! 🎉🎈 Although it’s been well over a year since the prep began to bring Mucky Pups to life, I opened my ‘doors’ to clients a year ago today.

I’m so proud of my little business and where it’s progressed and although navigating business ownership hasn’t been without it’s stresses, I’m so grateful to have / had the most amazing clients and their dogs /pets on board. Here’s to the future 🐾

I’ve always been pretty open with my journey to building my own business, but in 2021 having left the police, in the midst of the longest leg of a lockdown, I developed agoraphobia alongside my panic disorder. I couldn’t leave the house to take my own dog for a walk on my own without being scared, however, I continued to work towards recovery and found that walking and being around animals was an absolute blessing and has always been the thing that gave me the most peace and so the idea of Mucky Pups Henfield began and here we are!

Thank you to all my clients and family/friends who’ve helped my business along the way and continued to show support ❤️

Managed to keep all 3 spaniels dry (big achievement) until the last 10 minutes of the walk. Wherever there is water, a spaniel will find it 😂. Look at that side eye 👀. Nothing more satisfying than watching a happy dog in water 💦

Ella @ Pawsitive pets is running a sand school session in February. Offering socialisation for your pups and also training tips on how to help your dog shut off. It’s very important that your dog is able to learn when it’s time for down time too, something many dogs haven’t learnt. I’ll be there too with one of my dogs.

I get asked a lot about pet sitting, which unfortunately I’m not in a position to offer (I can offer drop ins but these are limited to 30 minutes at a time). However, the lovely Ella at Pawsitive pets is now able to offer pet sitting (at clients house). Highly recommend her if you need a pet sitter and I’m so glad to have a trustworthy pet sitter for my own dogs 🐶

New services are being added as we speak !! Pet sitting is now one of them and I am so excited to be able to offer this to and can’t wait to meet your beautiful fur babies 🥹😍

And that’s a wrap here at Mucky Pups Henfield until the 28th 🎁 🎄. We’ve had an exceptionally busy few weeks with lots of full walks. We’re looking forward to welcoming a few new Mucky Pups in the new year.

A huge thank you to my wonderful clients. I’ve received so many cards and gifts and I’m feeling the love, thank you for continued support.

As a dog walker, it makes my job a lot easier if your dog has recall or good lead manners. It also makes for a much more enjoyable walk for myself and the other dogs and more importantly, a much safer walk.

However, sometimes dogs may need a bit more training, especially if they aren’t used to walking in groups. I work alongside Ella at Pawsitive pets who can do just that. She’s a fantastic trainer who has experience working as a veterinary nurse, so you can be sure to trust her with your pets. She also offers 100% natural treats (which are fantastic for dogs). Just a reminder that I don’t offer dog sitting or overnight stays (at mine or yours). I get asked this frequently and although I’d love to offer this, I’m not currently in the position to do so. However, I hope to offer this in the future.
I can offer 30 minute drop ins though multiple times a day*

Please also be aware that it’s a requirement to meet you and your dog/s/pets prior to receiving any of my services. I’ve had a few messages from people asking for same day dog walks, unless I’ve met you and a starter form has been signed, I can’t provide my services.
