Well yesterday did not go to plan, seems to be the theme with me and horses at the moment! 🙄 We left home at 7.20 not a great journey to Bucks county but arrived around 10.20 expecting my class to be approx 11/11.30 looked to my right and said to mum that’s my class! Mum jumped out to let them know we had arrived but was told they had low entries and basically whizzed through the classes! We hadn’t been emailed class numbers and I had emailed asking for them but no reply. 🤷🏻♀️
So plan B…. Very long story involving a lot of running around the showground I managed to switch my entry to BSPA youngstock class. Asked secretary what class they were on in that ring and she didn’t know?! No means of contacting ring steward so off I ran again to the ring to be told yes that class starts in 2 minutes 😤 he did say they were also running ahead of time as low entries but would wait 10 minutes. So a very rushed prep for me and Della, not how I’d usually present her but no choice.
She initially showed really well until the line up before individual show where she decided to let the devil take over her thought process 😈 nearly kicked the poor ring steward, the horse walkway was a H&S nightmare where spectators were not safely contained away from horses leaving rings, horses stood outside rings waiting and just no room to get passed in some areas left devil horse once again almost causing a scene 😱🤯 by this point I just want to run her back to the lorry park (or give devil horse away 🙄)
I decided to try to salvage the day by leaving the evil one with hay on the trailer while we did some shopping, mooching around the showground with Vienna and had some lunch before heading home.
We did hear lots of other similer stories about missing classes, not everyone received the showing scene email with start lists so not just me but still not good enough.
Anyway life goes on and Katie Laa did a fab job of her mane 👏
