Do you have a couple of indoor cats ? Have you got a few minutes to help Edinburgh university ?

Carers of indoor cats - can you help us understand more about environmental enrichment and its impact on stress reduction in cats? A new study with the University of Edinburgh has just been launched and we're looking for participants.

We're looking for households with 1 or 2 indoor only cats. Households where the cats have access to a catio or enclosure can participate. Eligible cats are aged between 6 months and 13 years.

How to help your cat cope with the cold snap !!

(If cats are used to passing U&F outside that can get issues when the ground is frozen)

There’s a cold snap hitting us here in the UK 🥶 You may need to take some extra steps to help look after your cat during the chilly weather. Check our website for some more tips 👉 https://icatcare.org/advice/hazardous-weather/

🐈 If your cat usually has outdoor access, consider having a litter tray indoors because they may avoid venturing out into the cold.

💧If you usually keep a water bowl outside, check that it hasn’t frozen over. Avoid putting chemicals that are poisonous to cats, like Antifreeze, in ponds and water features as cats will often drink from these too.

🐾 Provide indoor enrichment, like puzzle feeders, and play with your cat for a few minutes each day.

🚗 Before starting your car, tap on the hood and check between the tyres to check that a cat isn’t hiding there for some warmth.

Antlers are for reindeer…….
❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓

Please don’t buy your dogs antlers “for their teeth” they are TOO hard.

We have lost count of how many we have seen this year for you dog to be able to chew it you should be able to indent the surface with your thumbnail (or happy to knock the item on your knee cap) .

Although we are glad to have vets with the training , expertise and skill to remove these large , 3 rooted teeth we’d prefer they were never damaged in the first place

These type of fractures make the tooth unsalvagable
