There have been some changes to our zone visit days. Please note that some of the zones have changed days as well as postcodes moving to different zones.
Our zoned visits give you the opportunity to take advantage of a fixed, half price visit fee which is available for pre-booked equine routine work such as vaccinations, routine dentistry, prescription checks and blood sampling. Yards and clients who arrange 5 or more routine procedures will not pay a visit fee.
In order to qualify for a zone visit you must
- Be registered with Belmont Farm & Equine Vets Ltd
- Have a clear account
- Book at least 48 hours in advance
- Be available between 8am and 6pm
You will receive 30 minutes’ notice prior to the vet’s arrival, we are unable to offer specific times for zoned visits and are with the vet assigned to the zone that day.
Our zoned visits are very popular and are subject to availability, therefore it is advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.
Please note that all clinical work will be charged at the normal rate. Also due to the nature of the zoned visits they are not available for time sensitive cases where ongoing treatment is needed.
These changes will come into affect week commencing the 30th of November.
Worm Warning!! Haemonchus (Barber Pole) On the Rise!
Warning! Recently we are seeing a large number of ewes and lambs affected by the intestinal worm Haemonchus Contortus also known as Barber Pole Worm. This worm differs to your regular intestinal worm as it does not often cause scouring. Barber Pole worms are blood sucking parasites which, in high numbers cause anaemia. The video shows the abomasal (stomach) content of a lamb, which appeared healthy yesterday and had recently been drenched, but was found dead this morning. We recommend faecal egg counts to identify eggs before disease and deaths occur.
