Please, please always keep dogs on leads near livestock 💔

😡AS IF FARMING ISN'T HARD ENOUGH!!😡

Yesterday was a terrible day!

Sorry for the long post in advance and the horrible picture (we can't share the other images) 😭 but we felt we needed to share this so people see what we have to go through.

Due to the wet weather, we have had to keep the girls in again so they don’t trample their fields.

Yesterday an irresponsible dog owner seemingly decided to take the “my dog doesn’t run off” attitude, which led to a large black dog entering our private farm yard and running through our enclosed cow shed scaring the cows!!

Of course, this big black dog entering the girls' safe space caused them to all panic and run from one end of the shed to the other.
Let us tell you 100 cows running at the same time in a panic never ends well!!!

Two of the girls fell and had to be EUTHANASED😭

One had a dislocated hip and the other a broken leg!!

Both young cows, who were fondly called Flo and Cassandra were 3 and half years old and both over 150 days in calf! 😭
So in effect that's 4 animals gone just like that because of yet another irresponsible dog owner not having control of their dog.

We are a small family farm and this has huge emotional impact on us 🥹 We’ve worked tirelessly to get where we are and finally have our own herd of cows and for this to happen to our girls, like it does all over the country with other livestock, on a daily basis is frustrating to put it politely!!!

Literally everyday we see pictures of dead livestock because of thoughtless dog owners.

It makes you wonder how these careless people would feel if we entered their property and let our animals kill their livelihood?!?!

We all know dogs are decendents of wolves; it's their natural instinct to chase something that moves but even the most well-behaved, gentle domestic dog needs to be kept on a lead around livestock. This includes footpaths near farms, as you never know where livestock may be grazing or being moved from one area to the other.

So why is this so hard for people to adhere to?!

Thank you to everyone who helped look for the dog yesterday and for your kind messages. It won't bring our girls back but it is comforting to know people care.

If you see someone walking with a dog off a lead near a farm or livestock, please remind them to KEEP YOUR DOGS ON LEADS!!

It may just save someone this heartbreak💔

Hi everyone,

I hope life is treating you well, sorry the page has been quiet for a while life’s been it’s usual crazy times!

I’m looking into the possibility of offering a new service in the future but wanted to see what the interest in it would be like first….

This would include picking up your fur baby, taking them along with a few friends to a private field that I will hire for a hours walk and returning them to you. This way I can guarantee a hour of fun play time in a secure location. 🐾

Cost would be around the £15 mark but this will be confirmed once I check field costs etc. and discounts for block bookings/ regular customers.

All this with the added peace of mind that I am a licensed, fully insured dog boarder and Qualified Veterinary Nurse. 👩🏻‍⚕️

It’s safe to say all our dogs that come for boarding are part of the family. ❤️
For a dog that wasn’t allowed on the Sofa at home Bailey always headed straight for ours when he came for stays!
He always made sure to get the best spot and made sure others knew their place (on the floor!)
He’s always got along with what ever dogs I’ve had to stay at the same time and has been great with the kids, run free Bailey 🌈bridge has gained another wonderful soul, I feel honoured to have had the privilege of having you to stay with us and you will be missed by us all ❤️

Good morning everyone, thank you for all your support with my business over the last 3 years.

I will be taking a slightly different approach to it from the 31st October and will only be offering holiday stays during the school holidays and will only have minimum slots available.

I hope I can still help as many of you as possible with holiday stays thank you again for all your support 🐶

Due to a few changes I have a couple of slots available for home care and dog walking message for more info.

All dogs must get on well with other dogs and children.

Hey, I hope your all having a good week so far.

As some of you may have seen on my page I have been reviewing my prices this week for home boarding (I haven't done this since I started out in 2019 🤦🏻‍♀️)
I've done a lot of research and been speaking to local businesses that offer similar to what I do but with me you get the added bonus of free veterinary advise I offer you all 😘

I have decided to set my new fees as follows:

Day care any hours between 7am and 6pm =£20

Holiday care will be £28 per 24 hour block then £1.20 a hour if another whole block isn't needed.

This will take affect from the 1st April and new prices will be invoiced at the end of that month.

I hope this all makes sense. Please feel free to ask any questions if you have any and thank you again for your continued support these last couple of years.

I write this post with mixed emotions.

For the time being my books are closed to NEW clients as I am busy with my day boarders. 🐶

I am so grateful for all the continued support from my clients but feel sad that I don't have room to meet any new fur babies at the moment.
If things change I will let you all know. 😊

Sorry I've been so quiet on here recently I've been very lucky to now have a lovely bunch of regular day boarders that come so have cut back on my advertising 🐶

If any of my previous clients have holidays booked and are looking to book a stay with us can you message me ASAP as I have very limited spaces left now and want to give you chance to find someone else if we can't help you this year.

Unfortunately I've caught Covid (I'm feeling a lot better now) we had a busy week planned with friends but going to make the most of some time at home instead.

☀️ The weather is warming up, so please take care with your pets!

☀️ Walk dogs early morning or late evening or not at all if very hot, missing a walk is safer than walking in the heat.

☀️ Do not leave them in the car.

☀️ Ensure plenty of fresh water is available

☀️Invest in some cooling aids such as mats or vests

☀️Ensure there is a shady area for small furries.

☀️ Seek veterinary help immediately if you notice any of the below symptoms.

Sadly, when the weather heats up we see a big increase in heatstroke emergencies, many of which turn out to be fatal. Could you spot the signs if your dog was getting into bother?

During this hot weather its vital we keep our fur babies safe, walk in cool places like the woods early morning and evening.
These guys had a good run but also some time on lead to help cool them down if I didn't then they would keep charging around for the whole walk 🥵

My advise is to keep them out of reach but also to check out what services your vets are offering over the Easter holiday as many are closed so you know in advance where to contact if needed. 🍫
