Arlington Whites - Saturday 6th April

Here at CRU we do like a challenge, but this is going to be our biggest one yet 😬😬😬

1,200 gorgeous Arlington Whites need to find homes within the next 16 days. That means we need to reserve at a rate of 75 hens per day minimum 🫣 So how are we going to achieve this ? We are going to ask you all for your help, our fabulous chook army, to share this post far and wide because sharing does equal reservations.

These 4 beautiful boys arrived with us at the weekend and are now in need of their forever homes. Sadly these boys where dumped in someone’s garden so where brought into the rescue. We don’t know much about these boys but what we do know is they are definitely youngsters, so are probably the result of someone’s hatching project and they are also the sweetest things ever 💜

We have named them

✨Elvis
✨Red
✨George

Their flock mate Duke needs to stay for treatment of his pendulous crop, but we hope that he will make a full recovery 🙏🏻

If you can offer one of the boys a home, please reach out. All roosters are rehomed with a no questions asked return policy in place.

Busy day today with the quackers! 🤍🦆🤍🦆

14 ducks and 3 hens rehomed today and we had 2 disabled duckies and 5 boys have joined the flock!
The boys will soon hopefully we ready to rehome once their checks are completed but we’re only half way through the day and I’m ready for bed!

We need to think of names for our two disabled girlies, anybody got any super cute duck names?!

There are still 10 of this past weekends ladies needing their forever homes at the South Basingstoke collection point.

These girls are the sweetest things and deserve to have somewhere to call home

Please if you can offer these girls a home message us directly. It’s a first come first serve basis so to ensure you don’t book hens that aren’t there contact us first 🙏🏻

Otherwise we have the Basingstoke North/East CP opening on the 16th September

We still have around 30 of these ladies needing homes. We’d really like to get them into their forever homes as soon as possible so that can have their well earned retirement.

If you could offer some of these girls a new home fill out a reservation form on the website 🙏🏻

Please, even if you can’t offer them a home share this so we can reach as many people as possible

Around 140 ladies here today, most going to their forever homes

We still have around 30 girls needing their retirement home and they will reside in our hen bank until they have somewhere to go.

Less than 2 days left to find homes for 200 hens!

Thanks to everyone sharing we have found homes or bank spaces for almost 400 of the hens remaining but that still leaves us with just over 200 ladies without a home.

Rescue hens are incredible little beings and watching their ‘glow up’ is such a rewarding thing. Most still lay so they will give you lovely fresh eggs in return for your generosity.

We are rehoming this weekend at the Herriard collection point!

We have an urgent call for homes for 600 hens. We NEVER leave a hen behind but we are currently struggling for capacity at all of our hen banks so please, if you can give a lovely lady or a few a loving home please apply via our website

We still have 4 lovely ladies in need of their forever home at the South Basingstoke collection point.
These girls came from the farm we attended on the 15th July and are yet to find a place to rest their wings.

One girl if a bit worse for wear outwardly but we think she was just the bottom of the pecking order as the other girls are in great condition, and she otherwise seems in great health. In fact, she’s actually quite a fiesty girl so we think she is ready to go out into the world 🌎

If you would like to offer these girls a home please get in touch. As always with rehoming through us, we will need to see pictures of an appropriate coop and run for them.

🐓Percy🐓

This beautiful chap we think has been dumped at a building site so is coming into the rescue to find his forever home. He’s made friends with the builders and eats out of their hands and seems a lovely friendly boy so will make the perfect addition to someone’s flock.

He will need a health check when he first arrives but he’s been well taken care of by the staff so we hope he’ll be able to find his new home quickly.

Pictures like this make me so happy 💜

When we rehomed this little mite she was scrawny and had huge bald patches. The farmer that we collected her from is one of the few who really care about his birds but unfortunately due to the lockdown conditions some where still in quite poor condition. I have never known someone do as much for his birds as he does but she was clearly one of the hens at the bottom of the pecking order and was going through a bad moult.

This is her today, feathers growing back beautifully and a beautifully bright comb. It’s lovely to get progress updates from rehomers 🥰
