"Ned, like many greyhounds seemed to have a lovely temperament. He was gentle, enjoyed a fuss and seemed good natured. Most greyhounds have a nice temperament and make gorgeous pets. And boys wait longer for homes as people usually ask for girls. So do keep an open mind, as it is more about a 2 way fit of them with your lifestyle."

"Morgan has a lovely, gentleness about him. He's only 3, but seems to have a calm manner. He was comfortable meeting new people and loved being stroked. When I got my boy 6 years ago, bigger than my previous girl, I was concerned he'd pull me over. He never has, takes up no extra space and is so gentle. So keep an open mind re size, gender etc and look more for who would best fit into your lifestyles and locations. Carol has great knowledge of this and can discuss."

"Crystal seems a gentle soul. She was new in kennels and still finding her paws. She took comfort from her kennel mate, Marshall. Greyhounds are often very gentle souls. They only need 2x30 mins walk a day and are so much happier once settled in a home. So homing really makes a difference to each life."

Thousands of greyhounds need homes each year so do consider homing one as they adapt well to homes. They only need 2x 30 mins walks a day and are very gentle dogs, happy to sleep the rest of the day. They tend to have sprint moments of energy, rather than all day long. Lovely breed!"

NERVOUS βBILLYβ REACHED THE BEACH....
A huge thank you to WGW hound owner, Paul Williams, for taking time out to take nervous 2 year old WGW Sanctuary hound, Billy, to the beach for the first time ever. Flanked by Paulβs own homed hounds, blue Mo & brindle Norah, Billy (featured in the green house collar) had an amazing time at West Wittering on a quiet weekday and for a little while, life didnβt seem to be that scary to Billy after all.
Billy is going to be our next hound on our βSponsor a Kennelβ scheme, as he was not able to race and so has not been handled much in his time at his previous kennel. Progress for Billy has therefore been slow and he can be very nervous and easily spooked.
Thanks to Paul and his hounds, who walk with Billy regularly at the kennels and have built up a bond with him, he did overcome his fears to join in the fun for a day to remember.
Thank you so much, Paul, Mo and Norah for making this lovely boy so happy on an amazing trip away from the kennel life he has only ever known.
Carol x.
Volunteer Linda sends a video of little Hope. As you can see she is looking much improved!
