Bert is showing some signs of release during his massage session
Signs of release can include:
🐴 Yawning
🐴 Licking
🐴 Chewing
🐴 Twitching Lips
🐴 Snorting
🐴 Looking Sleepy
🐴 Jerking a Leg
🐴 Gut Sounds
🐴 Passing Gas
Each horse is different and will show different signs of release.
Some horses may show all of these signs, while others may only show a few of them.

Here, I am demonstrating cupping over the supraspinatus and infrasprinatus.
These two muscles are know as the shoulder stabilisers.
They help move the shoulder forward and prevent the shoulder dislocating
If these muscles are tight, the horse may hold their leg bent at the knee.
Using cupping over these muscles will increase body temperature and circulation to help bring nutrients to the muscle.

Introducing massage to a young horse 🐴
This was one of Dolly's first massage sessions so I tried to introduce different techniques to see what she preferred and ensure it was a positive experience 🐴❤️
She really enjoyed the tapotements at the end of the clip 💤❤️

Bert demonstrating a great forelimb protraction stretch and allowing me to take his toe to stretch even further.
This stretch can help improve a horses range of movement and their stride length.

Did you know?
A horses gluteal muscles can be up to 25cm deep.
The technique I am demonstrating on the gluteals is called beating and can be used with varying pressure to help increase circulation of fluid to and from the whole muscle.

Here I am demonstrating a technique called wringing, along the longissimus dorsi muscle.
This technique is great to help increase circulation, release tension and soften the myofascia.
I think it is also very satisfying to watch ❤️

Today, Klaus had his first massage and was very relaxed.
Here I am doing palmer hand circles to warm up the muscles.
